Took me a while to get into Clark. I didnt like his first
album but loved his second, then retro-actively began
enjoying his first.

We should be due a release sometime soonish I think?

so far its allot more playful, with some great melodies in
there. im only on track 5 so far tho. I know theres lots
left to go, but shit the bones album was so perfect.

I used to think aphex was the best at his game, untill chris
clark came along. Chris clark also does a kick ass live set.

not that i know, but I heard him says that he is done with
melodies. He wants to do non melodic music, donno about that
then.

I thought he just said that empty the bones of you was going
to be his most melodic album ever, and he didn't want to do
anymore albums based mostly in melody ever again.

empty the bones of you is great, yeah. It was a breath of
fresh air when I heard it (love those beat sounds!) and I
want more of the guy's stuff. A good new Warp artist, maybe?
Let's see where he goes next.

check out any liove sets you can... he brings in gorgeous
jungle and tweaks his best tubes just right...... on eopf
the best live warp acts arouind.

I first heard of him pre-Clarence Park when warp had a 3
hour video stream of "chris clark vs warp dj's" and it was
real entertainin viewing..not as boring as it sounds. You
want to have seen the studio they were in and the craic
between the lads (i think dj ned was there)... and th
emusic was corkin.

Anyone got this stream saved?

he is rather good live when i've seen him at leas - at the
poke with ceephax, dmx krew and ellen allien he caned it.
rather good night that, now i recall someof it...

i think his records are alright but his production
techniques repeat themselves a bit too much for my liking,
that kinda plasticky drum sound , mega compressed, still i
reckon he has some great stuff in him yet.

i first saw Chris Clark at Nesh 2 @ Elektrowerks II in
London. Clark rocked the turntables for 2 hours and truly
knows how to work the crowd. No one knew who he was, but he
had proper skillz. ;)

Ceramics is the bomb is good, the albums I'm not a fan of.
I hope his new material moves away from the clicky sort of
sound. it might be his 'style' but I find it tiring. I hope
he is working on some wicked new material now, because he
has potential...
.

.

Interesting factiod.
I have been to THE Clarence park many many times. It looks
like this:

traditional, but similar to today
- the drinking fountain I have never known to work. the
house to the left of it is the groundsmans house and used to
have an exotic bird in a cage by the window when I was a
kid.
The bandstand is still there and the big building looks out
onto the St.Albans city football team ground.

random photo from the internet- to the right of this photo in the corner of
the park there used to be public toilets but about 10 years
ago it was renovated into a restaurant. They do nice italian
ice cream in the summer. Lots of people still refer to the
restaurant as 'the toilets'.

the beats are soo crisp. maybe even too crisp. but I love
the clarity, it smacks you and it smacks you hard.

i adore chris clark.

c.are ce park is the most perfectly condesnsed album. tons
of tracks, and not one gets stael cuz theyre all ended
befrpe they do,

empty the bones is almost the opposite, but equally as
awesome.

im smashed, exuse the spelling.

well, tolstoyed has been waging an anti-clarkism propaganda
campaign on xltronic for several years now... doesn't make
him any less good. empty the bones is pretty good, tho i
don't listen to it all that often. on clarence park, lord of
the dance and diesel raven are the standouts. i never got
into the ep, but maybe i'll give it another listen tonight.
i saw him live twice, once opening for plaid in vancouver
and the other in a festival in amsterdam....his beats were
pretty awesome.
