i used to be a fan, bought almost every release, but lately
i don't even bother checking samples anymore..i find music
there a bit immature, nothing much to it..am i wrong? are
there any good releases that i missed lately?

Yeah. Mu seems to have stopped focusing on innovative music,
and more on releasing a lot of the same kind of substandard
staple music.

Planet µ is going downwards for sure.

I just received Frog Pocket - Conglot
which happen to be a VERY nice album.

At least, imo. Nice melodies with harsch glitch beats, yet
sweet and lovely. Give it a try!

yeah, new frog pocket is nice..had no idea it's on
mu..doesn't sound like the rest of the stuff they put out.

yeah, true that
i was expecting a lot from the new Jega - Variance,
but apparently it has been slipped again into 2006?
when will they release this? It has been on p2p for over a
year!!

what the fuck are you on about, there's ease up, last step,
the work related illness, degenerate, pro agonist, bizzy b's
science volumes... lots of nice releases lately.

i'm assuming it will be even more interesting when more of
the new artists drop their stuff later this year.

Jega's - Varience is not the real album cos a cunt leaked
demos it has vastly changed. Also check HELLFISH - "ONE MAN
SONIC ATTACK FORCE" and VENETIAN SNARES - "ROSSZ CSILLAG
ALATT SZÃœLETETT" if you missed it.

I enjoy Exiles album, very nice stuff.

i found exile's album dissapointing. the only decent thing
to comeout on mu for ages is the rossig al cssyzzlu snares
thing.
the problem is mike p just makes/likes really boring music.
i listened to billious paths the other day and realised
actually how crap it is.

the thing is most planet mu stuff sounds old and cliched
after a while, wheras most rephlex/skam sounds retro and
cool after a while.

*waits for bit meddler*

anyways i think the lack of discussion on any of their
releases makes them forgettable. I rarely think of Mu when i
think of music. Sad but true. Based on that trend i could
see it overall killing them.

Not to say the artists are not talented but i sometimes
wonder what their plan is.

I dont even know how to word this post.

Actually I really disagree with you, I consider rossz
csillag to be weak and pro agonist and billous paths to be
good.

yeah the exile album was quite fresh.
the cllrir rososid whatever didn't really grab me.

Thats too bad that some ass leaked it. I would hate to
create something only to have someone else distribute it
like that :(

offline dave_g from United Kingdom on 2005-09-14 11:43 [#01723020]

the exile album had the typical planet mu style of *almost*
being good, but either lacking somehting, or having
unwanted things added, or just being repetative.

but hang on repetative can be good....well yes it can, but
the exile isnt. its got a case of what i call copy and
paste. i.e. you've got a good bit of song at 2 and a bit
mins, so you copy and paste and perhaps tweak odd bits
slightly but its just pants really. repetative only works
when you have a good repeatable song.

as for planet mu, what are they on. at least warp is
getting people into stuff, by popularising music which
isn't necessarily pop. planet mu, wtf? virus syndicate? argh
its just crap. please don't try to be cool or whatever it is
mike p is doing.
mike p/planet mu is like the poor relation. you've got the
big four, boc, afx,ae,sp. oh and then theres this guy uziq
and his label, and they are just sub standard, and it
shows.

I pity the people who are always wanting only something new
and different and innovative that bucks the trend and sounds
fantastic. I also pity the people who always only want the
same tried and tested formula day in day out and cry if they
hear something new.
There's room for both viewpoints. In fact, it should be
mandatory.

People need to enjoy music more.

If you think Mu are going downwards, don't say it.

Don't buy an album, tell yourself thats it's shit before
you've even listened to it.

If you know you won't like it i.e Snares - Meathole for some
people on here...DON'T FUCKING BUT IT!

sad, but true. Same thing happened with Warp. The new BoC is
the only good thing in months.

You should check out labels like n5MD, Ad Noiseam,
Component. That's the stuff.
