thanks!

Yeah, I've run into that problem as well... so when I was
writing this, I was conciously avoiding that... I wanted it
to be ambient in mood, but more forward moving and diverse
in content. hopefully thats what the result is!

This stuff deserves bumping for at least a month. A cannot
say anything that haven't already been said.

I grabbed all the stuff from your site. Till now the only
thing I didn't like is Watching Flowers Wilt, it seemed like
a semi-improvisation, which in my opinion doesn't fit the
minimalistic style.
The rest is top notch.

I foretell you a smooth way to the top. Don't forget your
internet friends when you're loaded.

PS: I couldn't download that video of the performance of
Flex U, I think the link is broken.

I love the thing in the middle that sounds like a giant
rebab (middle eastern violin thingy) in a room full of
springs oscillating sympathetically.

I used the physical modeling synth in Logic to make that...
love that synth.

soundscapes, yet stay melodic. A comparisson to them is a
true compliment :D

This is really good. It's evident how much time that has
been put to it.
Movement Three is amazing.

yea it's real nice stuff
what kind of reverb did you use if i may ask?

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2005-10-13 09:11 [#01748707]

I used convolution reverb... the space designer plugin in
logic

it sounds like in space or not on this world, nicely
electronic, to me

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2005-10-13 09:17 [#01748715]

thanks :)

I used mostly concert hall and cathedral/dome impulses

(fucking LOVE the dome impulses.... 16 sec decay times...
only it takes up 60% of my cpu for one instance... so its
usually a finally touch before I bounce)

i'm streaming the with quicktime so i don't have any
temporal reference to where i am in the piece, but the
sections contrast enough so that i can say of the first two
sections most of it isn't my cup of tea though there were a
few of the ambient moments that struck some very intriguing
emotional notes. i can hear that a lot of work went into
it, it's something that i admire more than i appreciate. my
interest picks up for the third section, it has a strong
soundtrack feel, makes me think of tim burton/danny elfman.
i really like the chiming bell sounds, it's still not
something that i would normally listen to but i can
certainly appreciate the artistry. there's a lot of depth
to the sound, it was an interesting listen.

goDel: album... well... when I have more time. Its really
hard to write in my spare time, because the rest of the time
is spent writing for classes. Thats my biggest complaint
about school... and thats why I worked so much on this
piece... cause it was for me... but also for school, so I
had the time to put into it. I'm considering send out this
piece as a demo though...

big: yeah, I got an A. :D

plaidzebra: I understand, its not for everyone, thank you
for listening through the entire piece though... 20 mins is
a long time.

mp3 label my friends have.

you can DL a zip with the (newly mastered) tracks, and the
artwork.

Enjoy!

I have to say i completely agree with the other peoples
rants about this one. It is most excellent. Sounds like an
Aphex/Brian Eno/Fennesz collaboration, only better. Nothing
bad to say aobut this one man, its brilliant
