From the director of "Russian Ark".

This is a real arthouse film about Emperor Hirohito at the
end of WW2 - an amazing contrast to "Downfall" and more of
an experince than a film. Truly amazing in its portrayal of
a man in a bubble of ritual beurocracy. .. reminded me of
Samuel Becket.

Sounds like an interesting movie, is it out on DVD yet?

Russian Ark is my favourite film, but watching Molokh, the
third instalment in the quadrilogy about tyrants, was a bit
of a chore for me. My mistake was watching it in DivX. I
think Sokurov's movies should be watched in theatres.
Otherwise you cannot separate yourself from external stimuli
and that is necessary to get yourself immersed. DVD can't do
it justice, unless you have a projector.

Anyway, I heard that The Sun is the best of the four.
Looking forward to watching it.
