Well done. Great move for your short- and long-term health.
I gave up 18 months ago.

i quit cold turkey, actually. originally, i did it because
my g/f complained about the smell, but now thanks to the
better health and money-saved i don't think i'll go back.
plus, i can SMELL when someone's been smoking now, and it's
not a kind smell.

I quit 4 years ago. I was majorly addicted, too. I went cold
turkey, also. You are basically not addicted after 2 weeks.

yeah, that was quite strange. after the first day or so, you
feel your senses of smell and taste resharpening. and after
the first 8 hours, you feel your blood pressure dropping.

I stopped smoking ummmm, i can't rememeber how many years
ago, 3? And I can't remember how many years I smoked for. If
they'd had liverjournals ten years ago I could have given
you dates, as it is, I used to smoke, now, no, not since the
nervous breakdown, no.

It's been about 3 months for me. The first week was a little
difficult though.

you wouldn't think a nervous breakdown would stop
someone from smoking.

would you believe I've never smoked in my life? no tobacco,
no joint, nothing.

(in real life, people always think I smoke)

once the weeks over it should be plain sailing

Smoking, it's right up there with "Eating yoghurt" and
"Wearing Odd socks", I don't know why people do it, it
certainly isn't something to bang on about, it's just shit.
And expensive. Drink beer, drink too much, have a problem
YES that I can understand. "I smoke 40 cigarettes", no, you
have 40 "breaks " every day, like anyone else does, except
you have to justify them by sticking some burning chemical
wrap in your gob under the pretext of having a cigarette to
relieve the symptoms of fancying a cigarette. Fucking
useless shitbox.

I'm always surprised how people can say they actually like
the taste, if the smell is anything to go by.

I don't think most smokers realise how they really fucking
stink, not just smell like a smoker, but really
stink.

Hey Oddio, haven't seen you around in a while (I was one of
the dorks on the old creampuff productions BBS). You
contributed one hell of a drum and bass remix as I recall.

Anyway, about smoking.. I smoke about 4 a day. I almost quit
when Peter Jennings died, but it's too damn fun. I'll prolly
quit within a year or two though, as I'm scared of lung
cancer.

Congrats on kicking the habit!

It was actually a friend of mine from Austin who put it up,
although I helped him out here and there. The project didn't
die so much as he took the idea of the 'collective' and
turned it into a small label, which is currently here:
Papergoose Records.
Although, this has been kinda quiet too lately because he
moved to Sacramento. So it is kinda on hiatus. Anyway,
that's the story!
