I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with the work of William
Basinki, but i've been digging his stuff lately. He plays
with repetitive classical/ambient tape loops, which very
subtlely transform and mutate over time.

Anyway, i've wanted to do a piano-based ambient track for a
while. This is basically something i've come up with over
the past few days, and although its not what I would
consider complete, i'm tempted to leave it in this
unfinished state.

Its not mastered properly yet, and i'm tempted to make it a
little shorter and add some more subtleties to the sound.
Eventually, it will probably be used in a short experimental
film I produce when I go back to uni.

Anyway enough babbling... you can download it from
Qualm (4.29mb/2m55s)

Critique welcome, positive or negative.

this is a very emotional track, great choice of sounds. they
all compliment eachother. this track makes me think of some
beautiful forest in secret of mana. infact im getting so
nostalgic that im gonna click on that link again and save it
this time. good stuff. don't change a thing.

Heh, I still need to play that actually. I got the full SNES
rom set a few weeks back, and told myself to play some of
the classic RPG's i've missed. Its just finding the time :(

a very nice track, just needs a bit o EQ in my opinion, and
maby slight compression.

Yep. Once i'm happy with it, i'll master it properly. For
now, i'm just scoping opinions to make sure i'm in the right
direction.

this is a solid ambient track. lots of good filtering - for
some reason, the keys sound like they would fit well under a
miles davis piece. and i agree with gwely mernans that it
sounds snes-like, which is not bad because i really like
that sound.

minimalistic, and smooth. i approve sir.

nice track, do NOT use any compression though.
but maybe some eq-ing here and there. yeah I'm keeping this
track.
