i was wondering if theres an application program that i can
put on computer games like lets say doom where it relays a
blue and red image so that wearing goggle will make it
appear 3d. I know of sites where you can buy converters for
your television and stuff.

just wondering if theres anything along these lines i can
download. for FREE

Hmm... in stereoscopy I think the red and blue image both
have to be from a slightly different angle (just like each
of your eyes see everything from a slightly different
angle-the combined data is "3d") I think doom would have to
be redisigned from the ground up, making everything have two
slightly different angles. But virtual boy is 3d. I'm gonna
get one asap (ie. not very soon).

Actually some sort of "instant 3d" program might be able to
cheat by merely making two versions of the same exact thing,
then merely shading one slightly more to one side or
something. It wouldn't be as good. Plus objects that are
supposed to be closer need both angled views further away
for best effect I'm pretty sure.

theoretically, you could write a modified graphics driver to
draw everything twice, once in red, panned slightly left,
and once in blue, panned slightly right.. getting the two
images to overlap properly might be difficult.. but if you
could do it, you'd have yourself a decent shareware app, if
priced correctly..

i know there are already drivers that do something similar,
except they used lcd glasses to block out one eye at a time,
switching between eyes every frame.

But they'd be the same perspective. It'd just be like
looking at the normal thing only cross eyed for no reason
probably.

the drivers recalculate the perspective for each eye.
