"...Tommy and I have been friends for a very long time
and jammed in a band together called
DRIP back
in the early 90's with Jim Bower (DOWN, C.O.C., SUPERJOINT
RITUAL, EYEHATEGOD), Brian Patton (SOILENT GREEN,
EYEHATEGOD), Mike Williams (EYEHATEGOD) and Ross Karpelman
(CLEARLIGHT). Tommy's fantastic at thrash drumming, but
surprisingly formidable at the stripped-down, fundamental
four- or five-piece drumming style. Guess it's something in
the water down here..."

it's because of sponsored links.

yes, sponsored links are the fuel that makes brian's guitar
hit the low-C perfectly every time.

I found a guy that has three demos and a bunch of live sets.
omfgosh.

He also has bands i have never heard of before and i am
curious about checking them out. Have you heard of any of
them?

Buzzoven:"I could tell just from the intro that
this wasn't going to be just another death, grind or thrash
band...and I didn't have to wait long for that to be proven!
Suddenly, screeching guitar feedback which give way to what
can only be described as being the musical equivalent of
being hit full force in the face with a brick! This
ferocious, angry, evil sound rips through the
speakers...manic and full of piss and vinegar, followed by
the sickest vocals I've ever heard! Now I had been a fan of
heavy music for years...death metal, grind, black metal, but
I hadn't (and still haven't) heard any band heavier than
Buzzoven.

Diffenbachia

Gasp

gob

kilslug

regurgitate

rupture (a shit load)

seven minutes of nausea

sloth

sore throat

supression

upside down cross

i've been listening to Buzzoven for years... they're cool
but kind of quirky sounding. you either like it or you
don't, i think.

sloth is quite good. most of their stuff is more stoner
rock-ish, but they have experimental tracks as well... so,
don't expect eyehategod - it's got more of a mellow vibe.

i've heard like one song by sore throat and i don't remember
it too well... do they have a really weird-sounding
singer?

i think i've heard a couple of these other bands, but i
don't remember for sure.

you don't need to search. it's the melvins. the melvins
are the best. case closed.

Dont forget about shit like Down, EHG, Sleep, Crowbar, Lamb
of God etc etc.

Certain bands that just add fucking flavor

EHG is fucking phenomenal, but in a different way.
definitely the best band of their genre. i've loved Sleep
for a long time as well and i'd say they were the best at
what they did as well.

but out of all the metal there is, for me, the ultimate
"metal" band has always been Brutal Truth. i love them.
i've listened to tons and tons of similar stuff and i've
never heard any band that comes close to the sound they
perfected... they really do it for me.
