I was just watching the show... and on the final showcase
showdown one of the price was....

a trip to New Orleans.

Eery, but I had also this little dark humour inside of me.

What DID happen when Rod Roddy died? Is that show still on?
His voice is the first thing I think of when I think ''Price
is Right'', the whole spayandneuter thing is second.

Yeah its still on... man I grew up on TPIR in the late 80's.
I finished school at 11h30, so I would race back home and
watch the last half of the show.

It's so weird, it's like somebody stopped time in that
studio. Heck there's the same cool music than 20 years ago,
in that funky 70's style that I know by heart. Same for the
games in their quirky design.

The show will die when Bob dies, I mean its an institution.
5 days a week for the past 30 years or so.

And Im not even American, don't ask me why I would watch
that. Perhaps its my love of all things American, in terms
of sociology that fascinate me. TPIR is basically a hit
because its targeted at mom-at-home audiences, just look at
"Items up for bid" and how Rob Roddy used to introduce them.
Its a relic of past times.
