i don't find them that alike, although on second thought you could be onto something. it's just odd to compare a band with guitars to a guy behind a mixpult.

yes yes, they DID play live, they really did, with guitars and stuff. I have that album somewhere. It's sort of well produced, and actually somewhat New-Orderish (as someone mentioned), but I'm glad they dropped "real" instruments for mix tables!
But please, let's not have any more of this "they've never touched a real instrument, and it shows." That was probably true for Darren Emerson, but not for the original, or the current, line-up.

plus let's not treat them as another bump bump bump disco techno shit project. they're much more, or just a lot different, than that. right ?

True enough. I just wish they're able to release some material that'll reach the dubnobass/STITI/BFish level again. I thought a hundred days off was quite listenable, but only one or two tracks really shone. Or then am I just nostalgic?
Anyway: The Everything Everything DVD belongs to anybody's shelf.

to me it seemed either after second toughest they simply ran out of ideas or became lazy. beaucoup fish is just a weak imprint of the previous album. compare the track lengths & order, and overall similarity of styles track by track and you'll see what i'm getting at. there are a few highlights but overall it's throwaway . and 2 months off desperately carries on in the same.
but there are plenty of lush tracks from the time of their 'rebirth'. who doesn't like rez? everyone does

the crowd jumping like crazy after two hours gig to "moaner", at sunrise, 4am, a jetty near the sea, big battle ships around, a harbour. one of the greatest moments of this year to me.
earthleakage : i'm a fanboi so i just grasp, dig and digest what they've done so far [since dubnobass of course] . 100 days off is the first "sober" record for Karl Hyde, and after Darren Emmerson left - so it makes me look at their work in a different way.
