.. well.. it's called Vital Weekly, but it's part of
the Staalplaat e-mailed newsletter.

Staalplaat is a wonderful, originally Dutch label and
recordstore (now in Berlin and online) who prefer the
stranger, more noisier spectrum of electronic music (they've
always had close contact with Hafler Trio, for example).

they send an e-mail newsletter, Vital, round on a weekly
basis, which is filled with reviews of new releases (most of
them not on Staalplaat itself).

since a few weeks ago they now make a 25-minute (or so) mp3
compilation of some of the music reviewed in the
newsletter.

a great way to hear new music - hear here.

That's an interesting mix/newsletter, I think I like this
sort of music. I'm assuming Staalplaat is Dutch for
Raasclart?

staalplaat is the Dutch word for a thin sheet of metal, I
don't know what the English word is.

stuff like this:

I think that happened to some of their older releases. the
muslimgauze flood kind of got quelled.

wait a minute now... are their cds literally made of sheet
metal somehow or are you talking about the label?

you mean, is the label made out of sheet metal or just the
cds.

neither - the word "staalplaat" means etc.
