Anybody know this dude? I guess Moog dying got me in a
morbid Moog mood (say that a bunch of times fast lolz). Been
listening to some early Moog music the last couple weeks and
this Garson guy is just too retarded and good. It's
electronic music so this is on topic. He did some Gothy
dirge Moog compositions on his Black Mass album (as Lucifer)
which is kind of funny and really groovy and startlingly
modern in a few places (usually pretty flaky though not in a
bad way)... cool David Vorhaus-ish stuff. But he also had a
lighter side and made some music designed specifically to
help plants grow. And it really works, I can see the grass
outside my room has grown a lot in the last 72 hours (the
music is wafting out and feeding the grass with energy, I
presume). And of course, he did a 12 album proto-new age
music series, one album for each Zodaic sign. Obviously. And
a weird electronic satire of Wizard of Oz called Wozard of
Iz and a weird electronic rendition of the entire Hair shows
andandandand lots more.

I love this guy's music, and it turns out he's from New
Brunswick just to my west. He also composed the National
Geographic theme. God knows what else he did, he seemingly
was involved with everything back then. He invented music.
Anyway yeah, Mort Garson. Any fans or people interested
in the old electronic pop pioneers?

He is now one of the most badass people for making "some
music designed specifically to help plants grow."

Besides the obvious beneficial environmental effects (it's
not a gimmick it REALLY WORKS), it's really nice sounding
stuff. Very much of its time but it makes me feel good.

Concerto for Philodendron and Pothos > Venetian Snares

Kind of reminds me of Mr/Mrs. Carlos in places.
