Vote MAXIMO!

offline manicminer from Paris (France) on 2005-09-06 03:22 [#01715903]
Points: 1423 Status: Lurker

Inevitably, this message will provoke a tirade of messages
along the lines of:

"I hate Maximo Park"
and
"Warp have sold out. As a paying punter, they owe me more
Richard Devine-type albums"

and some funny cunt will now copy and paste those into their
message. But I think we owe it to Warp, for the years of
listening pleasure they've provided us with, to click on
this link and vote Maximo.

They're certainly better than any of the other bands on
there. And if people buy Maximo and swell Warp's coffers,
maybe they'll be able to afford to continue to release the
electronic music we love in today's economically difficult
musical climate.

they owe me more Aphex Twin-type albums.

sorry, I meant to say "I hate vlari. As a paying punter, he
owes me more than dsp-wank hatery." but that came out wrong.
I did donate to this site, you know. Your hating costs me
tonnes of gold worth of self esteem.

I don't know any band from the list, except for a small
awareness of coldplay, mia and maximo park, without hearing
their songs, only some remixes

i heard only remix by goodhands team. what type of music is
mia? i suppose it's kind of this modern r'n'b stylie which i
don't like.
Ok, I'll download some tracks to check maybe..

Why should anyone vote for an album that's shit just because
it's on a label that's releases other records that are
good?

What I thought sucked was the fact that Maximo Park were
hyped as being "innovative" and sounding like "Punk Funk pop
genius" when in fact they are "gay" and sound like "Shed
Seven".

Hilarious bit of homophobic labelling there. So being or
sounding "gay" is a bad thing, is it?

because warp is just a record label. which had/has good
music released.

i wont beat around the bush, but my guess is the fuckers who
listen to maximo park don't care about warp. maximo pakr and
the ir fans are gaylords. and that is the bottom line.

Lovely. More homophobic sentiment. You just can't beat a bit
of ignorance. What an intelligent, well-thought out argument
you present.

antony and the jonsons, the go! team and MIA were the best
of the bunch.
i dont owe warp anything, and nobody on here does. we're the
people who support them and keep them in business by buying
their records/t-shirts/tickets for shows etc.

maximo park ARE garbage, regardless whether theyre on warp
or not. the album is terrible, and frankly, i'm not
surpsrised they lost.
