i hope it's a rdj-themed joke. goon, don't bloody give up,
your stuff rocks, and this is the kind of industry that
takes determined patience (although, the reviews i've seen
of your stuff seem pretty fucking positive).

what's the story?

Goon has had to get a full time job beause people chose to
download rather than buy his music. This leaves him with no
time to make music or run websites any more.

fair enough; certainly seems hard to make a living this way.
maybe i'm just an opportunist, but i'd see something like
that as a chance to refocus, rather than flat out give up.

"That's gay as AIDS!"

Sorry, I meant assistant manager and it all depends how busy
they are :(

Maybe there will come a day when J will drop the fries and
burgers and return to creating the music we all love so
dearly. Until that day all I can say is RIP Gobal Gloon we
will never forget your name or music.

i don't understand why this sort of stuff happens. he's
clearly talented; why a job in a completely adverse
industry? maybe he also wanted a change, too?

"Hard to beleive I know but he is now the manager of the
Switch Island branch of McDonalds :( "

Hahahaha!.. ha.!
To be honest, i think it serves him right for going about
his career in such a snipey, sneaky way.

Great successful music is created by grafting away using
talent, not by spending half your time on the internet
taking below-the-belt and patently bitter swipes at people
you've never even met, johnny.

A quarterpounder, fries and a diet coke please.

Yeah I am sure McDonalds has been a dream of his since he
left school. Unemployment runs at about 84% in the part of
Liverpool he lives, there are no jobs at all anywhere, you
just take what you can get.

Well if he works his way up in McDonalds I am sure he will
be able to have his pick of restaurants and move pretty much
anywhere he wants to. Maybe that's the plan?

perhaps; hope to hell there's good reasoning behind this.
i've seen way too many very talented people let hurdles make
their career and selfdignity go completely down the drain
instead of trying to adjust to situations (which can be
rather fucking difficult).

hi self dignity disappeared some time ago, on these here

friendly to some of you when chatting here but in real life
i'm sorry to say he's a sneaky nasty type.

i've had some connections with him over the past few years.
when i first met him i thought he was okay but he's got a
hardcore bee in his bonnet about a lot of electronica
producers who are more successful than him. he even uses
multiple ID's to spread shit about people.

seems like it's come back and bit him in the burger buns!

why would he announce it like that, if it's all it is? why
not just let the site run on another 4 months and say
something in december? why did he come on Zilty last week
(and on WATMM, no doubt) to also announce this?

if it all isn't a big deal, why all the announcements?

people asked him in the thread he made here whether this
means he is stopping - quite a logical question. sadly, he
didn't answer.

I disagree, on the grounds that he polled WATMM for track
titles when he was preparing Pure Rock, and rewarded the
winner with a free copy of it. "Play enjoyed by all."

i still like his tunes, dont get me wrong.

yeah it seems he hung out at watmm.com way more than here, i
know artists are busy, just seems a little inproper

i would do things differently if i was trying to put out a
release
