So I stepped away from this album for a little bit and have come back under new circumstances. Having re-listened to most of Ae's catalog, I am convinced this is the only album written entirely in Max/MSP. You can hear the FM modulation and midi triggers all over this, its dripping in it.
I know Confield is supposed to be "THE" album for experimentation, but I have my suspicions that this album was entirely realized within one system. For that, I have to give it applause. I still adore Confield, though now knowing more about how this album is written, I have even a greater fondness for it.
Oh, the good ole' days.

Confield was written in Kyma.
I know I always drop this link, but I am kind of obsessed with this system.
LP5 is good, but it sounds too rich to be sole Max/MSP buggery. As far as I know, they still like to mingle hardware and software in their music.

I can see my reflection in the music on LP5 when I listen to it. Great album.

I would be listening to it right now (LP5 that is) weren't it for me being on my lunch break at work.
I also think Melve deserves a mention, it's short but sweet. I love the fusion of weid melody and bedtime oriented timbres. It would send me to sleep (not in a bad way) straight away, and when I have children it's what i'll play to them to get them to sleep :)

anytime mate, Amber is a bit to laid back for my liking but there are a few good moments within certain tracks.

My favourite track from LP5 is "777" because of its stupid-ravey momentum reminding me of a Black college student in 1989 doing that one dance where you hold your ankle and pump the leg in and out or also jump through it, you know what I am talking about don't act like you don't know.

hahahaha, I know what you're talking about. Is that the Kid 'n Play Kick (Quick?) Step?
777 is my favorite on there too, though for different reasons.
