Is there a way to change the start up image on a computer? Like when you start up your computer and that windows screen appears. is that possible? I'd rather have my own. I am on XP |

In c:\windows can you just swap the winnt.bmp for what you want? I haven't tried it. |

I've done this to a co-worker (he's a marine that loves america and we replaced his boot image with a french flag.), and nothing bad happend... just total hillarity. |

his method works for win98, I've tried it many times. it includes renaming and resizing the .bmp file, don't remember much of this now... |

oh, i tried this once. the same time i was changing the text on my start button and did some other . used reshack and shut down explorer.exe while changing some files i don't remember. pretty geeky actually. do some googling on xp hacks and tricks and stuff and fuck up your windows properly. |

make sure the image is the proper size of your monitor, otherwise it will look streched |

ah! Yeah i am going to need to do some modifying to some images..... I've never used photoshop or anything. i just usually resize and crop pictures. I really dont know what i am doing and i am real out of it due to drinking too much yesterday |
