Hi Nacmat. U really don't sleep,do u?!! LOL! Anyway,as i
like KW so much,i can help ya."DieMensch Maschine" is the
German title for the lp "The Man Machine".It is one of their
studio lp's. "Computer World"(1981),is generally considered
their best and most influential Lp.there are others, but i'll
try and find you a link.regards my Spanish pal.

heh, reminds me of that Simpsons episode where side show bob
is on the stands and he pulls up his shirt showing his
tatoo...

"No it's German for 'The Bart, The'"... heh, that's
hilarious... :)

"die mensch maschine" is the original "deutche" (german)
version of "the man machin" album - 1978 - lyrics are in
german - you can also find the english version al over the
place - great album - but i would suggest "Computer world"
for a newbie

the remix album that was out mid 90's(?) is very good,
althuogh i listened to the original autobahn the other
night, all 20 odd minutes or something, and it is
groundbreaking when you think it become the base of hiphop
with Arthur Baker and Planet Rock, one set of artists you
can say are influential

sure aren't Kraftwerk from the late 70's? Goodness, they
started the whole electronica thing...

kraftwerk started in the 70s - and made a greatest hits
album in 1991 - "The Mix" is pretty awesome - but i think it
could've used "tour de france" instead of "dentaku" - just
my opinion...

Kraftwerk are just sooooo up there....probably be remembered
in 100yrs time...& probably still listened to...

Grab as much as you can...The originals are better than the
dissapointing "The Mix"...TransEuropeExpress is my
fave...Imagine Tha from SAWI done 10yrs earlier....

(And didn't Derrick May once describe Techno as "George
Clinton & Kraftwerk stuck in an Elevator"....pretty cool
definition...)

And if you like books, see if you can pick up I WAS A ROBOT
by Wolfgang Flur (the now ex-drummer)...very very readable &
a great eye opener...

from a St. Vinnies...

Autobahn isn't my personal fave either...altho it's the
track that broke them in hte US...(all sounds a bit lieteral
to my ears...altho that naiveity is a big part of the charm
of the Kraftwerk...)...

Anyone seen the videoclip to Pocket Calculator?

Four guys on a stage holding calculators and jumping around
and going nuts in front of a crowd who are also jumping
around and going nuts.

It's damn funny.

"When I press a special key it plays a little melody!" :)
