thatne's topic about wealth

Hi guys. It's me, thatne, again well I'm here to ask if
you are wealthy and if so are you a nob about it or do you
think hermeneutically. Personally I am paranoid
schizophrenic with a Christian background so I am nice but
impatient and whimsically mad. All right guys.

I don't know anyone who uses the word "hermeneutically".

Being skint makes you appreciate little treats so much more.
A bag of space raiders, 2 bottles of posh cider and some
cheese, it feels like divine manna. Awesome.

is a virtue.

offline Anus_Presley on 2005-08-11 11:35 [#01691922]

I wouldn't say I apprreciate little trreats especially but
because I've neverr had alot of money I've neverr developed
a desirre to have anything expensive. I'm not into fashion,
I'd like a grreat carr but I don't rreally long forr one, I
don't eat in fancy places 'cause I don't want to, I don't do
anything orr want anything beyond going to the pub, seeing
the odd film and having the odd cheap day out wherre again I
spend verry little, simply because therre's nothing much to
buy in the places I choose to go (Get that rright I go to
places I want, they just happen to be cheep, that's not what
I base my decision on). I expect it's just because I don't
know what I'm missing.

I say this with some exceptions. And I saying this knowing
I'd take morre money if I could get it.

Yeah, its the same story with me. Yet, when I come in
contact with people who are wealthy they get offended by
that position as if it represents a person in a straight
jacket who doesn't try to struggle free.

A girl i know found out a couple of months ago that her
insanely wealthy grandparents had set up some kind of trust
fund for her, worth about 2 MILLION FUCKING QUID. She quit
her job the same day and left college maybe a month later.
That kind of money is just incomprehensible to me, i mean
what the fuck would you even spend it on?

I'd get the simple things... a nice house, nice carr, help
my family out.

Yeah, it'd be something similar for me too really, just
comfort for the people i love. I'm not a guy with
expensive tastes really, i'm not even properly sure what
expensive tastes are. How do millionnaires live? Do they go
to tesco? Fuck knows. It's such an odd concept, living
day-to-day and hand-to-mouth one minute, and having
near-limitless cash the next.

thing is, if you just start spending and don't still keep an
eye on your money it'll be gone in no time.

when people win a huge prize in a lottery they normally get
appointed some form of specialised councillor who helps them
cope with such a lot of money, to prevent them from just
throwing it away.

offline Anus_Presley on 2005-08-11 13:02 [#01692039]
Points: 23472 Status: Lurker

The thing with having a big win is that you can only afforrd
to buy these things once and then that's it... you'rre not
earrning, you can't update yourr carr everry yearr
forr the rrest of yourr life etc...

Half the stuff that maybe the money could buy outrright you
couldn't afforrd the rrunning costs of, also.

Forr example if someone gave you an aerroplane orr
the exact money to buy one, you wouldn't be able to even
have it in storrage, that's something like 10.000 squid each
DAY.

offline Anus_Presley on 2005-08-11 13:03 [#01692040]

So you have 2 options... spend it on loads of shit to make
you happy in the shorrt terrm orr play it safe (like I
would)

Aye, i can see how that could happen. It's the lifestyle
change i can't get over though, i mean i know for a fact
this girl is having a helluva time at the minute, drinky and
cokey every night of the week, but surely that can only last
so long. Theoretically she could stick the cash in a
high-interest account and live comfortably off the interest
for the rest of her life... i can't imagine never having to
really worry about money. It's just completely,
utterly alien to me.

If that much cash was dumped on me my job would then be
