Bought this album years ago, then dug it up again recently.
What does anyone make of it? I think it's one hell of an
album, and I wish there was more of this kind of stuff
around. Incidentally, what other stuff has he released
since? Any info appreciated.

What do they sound like? Musik is 1994 release, and has a
very bare, spartan sound to it. A lot has a straight acid
sound to it, but some move in different, quieter directions.
(Forgive me, I was 16 in 1994, the time in life when I knew
everything abt music! Now I still keep in touch, but havent
as much free time to keep up with what's going on.)

well, they're both very dark, extremly intense and
minimalistic. pure quality!

better than the overated consumed ever ritchie hawtin fan
raves on about.
Sheet One is the most similar of his album is to music so
check that out if you like music.

I found Consumed to be quite tedious after Sheet One and
Musik, I don't know why everyone rates it. Maybe I should
listen to it again... it's been a while.

Which tracks did you like on Musik, xceque? Konception is
awesome, I think.

it's one of those albums that can still make me really feel
like i'm out of this world

artifakts (bc) was my first introduction to plastikman and i
was absolutely transported

i always liked the deep effect that electronic music could
have on me but it was the first time it felt so real and so
perfect

so check it you'll probably like it even if it's less like
musik than sheet one

i bought a;ll up to consumed, then sold it all away
got boring, sounds all the same

i once was going to cut a sheet of acid off of sheet one and
put it on my tongue, but never did

i do like richie's new look though

Just don't go near Closer. It's MORE minimal than Consumed,
and has Richie talking over it - lots of pretentious
monologues. Just awful.

Sheet One is rawer and more repetitive than Musik. He
overuses that aeroplane sample far too many fucking times.
Just get Recycled Plastik instead.

Recycled Plastik is (at the risk of sounding American)
awesome!

how fucking stupid. the whole concept of plastikmans' music
is already pretentious, so how can closer be an awful album.
it is possibly his best, up there with sheet one. jesus
fucking christ, in the arse and squealing.

i can't listen to consumed continuosly all the way
through... i have to take it scattered about. i have a gap
of plastikman material that i haven't gotten around to... i
first got sheet one when it was released... didn't buy
another plastikman cd until consumed.

The thing that really carries his music is its spaciousness
and mood. When he has stupid lyrics that sounds like a 10
year old wrote it after his first bout with extistentialism,
drowning out all the beautifull ambience, then it gets
stupid.

In his website talks about the ideas behind the different
albums.
