Seeing as no thread about B12 can go without me posting in
it, and Tridenti has already soiled it with a BobMcBobish
"I know nothing about this but that won't stop me
posting
" post, I shall paraphrase what I said before
about this splendid ep. That it's like a more pumped up,
muscular B12, a kind of more "live" feel. I am a big fan of
track "Joe Morello", which i believe is actually live.

It's a bit of a departure from the classic b12 sound, the
prisitne detroit inspired electro soul of classics
Electro(Soma) and Time Tourist, this is more beaty, more
rumbling, but ... oh it's 7 years old now, and I'd like to
know what music they're making NOW.

I do, I do, I do! It's called "Prelude pt.I", it's a
collection of tracks, some unreleased, some off of the early
12"s, some "original" versions of other tracks, all
interspersed with little snippets of an interview they did
on a Belgian radio show. Predictably enough, it is one of my
all time favourite records. Some of the tracks on it
are just... their best.

Maybe if PHobias gave me a radio show I could educate THE
WORLD about their GENIUS.

Where have B12 been all these years? They arrived at the
time of Warp's Artificial Intelligence set of LPs, then
seemed to go off the radar a bit. Excuse my lack of
knowledge. Can anyone fill me in on what they did after
that?

Well, recently they've been playing live again, they played
a couple of nights ago at some Delta-4 thing, and the
Norburg festival last month in Sweden, and they're soon to
play at the Acid on Sea II on the 27th of this month, so...
hopefully they're getting back in the game.

Hmm, I'm not sure, their 12"s sell for between £5 to £25,
rarer ones a bit more, I'd say about £20, possibly, for
Prelude, though you never know, could be cheaper. I can't
find this on there at the moment, though there is an orange
vinyl Electro(Soma) for £5.50... I was quite lucky in that
I found "Prelude" in a second-hand record shop for about
£8, oooh, a few years ago. There was a guy on here selling
all his old records and he had a lot of b12 stuff. Let me
know if you want to hear it.
