Hello, I just registered are XLT. Not sure just how
frequently I'll be posting, but I'll try to keep up with the
board. I've been reading it for months without posting. I
had to work up a lot of balls to actually register. No just
kidding. anyway I've got some tracks I'd like to share with
you, many of you being producers yourselves. They are

Associations
Sorvino

Well I'm definitely proud of these, but I can take any
criticism you can dish out. What do you think?

Associations: This is really good dude......... I cant
really criticise anything, except maybe the use of some
generic synth sounds, but really, good beats with variation,
layers, melodies.... it's got it all........ change the
synth sounds and maybe work on the final mix a bit and it
will rock............... nice debut.

Sorvino: 2001 samples are a bit old-hat, but again, you've
got a great track with good variation throughout. The
"grunting" at the end could go (is it grunting?), and it
seems to end a bit prematurely, like you got a bit lost
maybe? More work required with this one, but still good.

sorvino : 3/5 , i generally like it. very energetic,
but sounds a bit flat. perhaps because of lack of bass.
sounds from 2001, ....hmmm...too many of them , i can't find
any context for them. i used to put lots of film/voice
samples to my tracks but...i'd rather hear it in FSOL
tracks, they do voice sampling better than me.

a lot happens in that track, but i'm not sure if not too
much. but i can hear you spend some time on it, which speaks
well for you.

associations i'm saving this one for sure, tho i'm
only at 1'06''. it's very dynamic.

once again, the mix sounds a bit too flat, even though it's
a good bitrate mp3. with better production it wouldn't sound
so much like pc game music. cause this track is very
interesting and you can hear the vast amount of time spent
on it. perhaps it's a bit too long - you could try to fit
the song in , let's say 4 or 5 minutes. then you could
choose the most important parts of the playlist - and make
the track more dynamic.

your music is not boring and it's not analord/aphex-like,
which is great. welcome to the board.

Associations is very good, I didn't like the snare
sounds at moments, and the production lacks depth i.e. it
is too flat. I especially appreciated the drum work.

Sorvino is a bit too messy, too many ideas in one
maybe. You should maintain the initial piano melody, and
eliminate the samples. (Uuhh, I love being so
scholastic...).

You're a talented man I say, welcome to the board.

Hmm...it's obvious you have musical talent...but I dunno.
It sounds like middle aged IDM to me. It lacks atmosphere
and attitude. The technical aspects are all there but it
sounds very bland. Certainly technically better than
anything I could produce at the moment though and certainly
worth listening to.
