Extreme Climbing? It's called Mountaineering. If he's going
for a quick assault on the summit, it's alpine-stylé.

Well, six days is too long for an alpine-style climb, so it
looks like it's simply a solo climb.

yes, he's climbing alone..apperantly he's got a better
chance that way because there's bad weather and those seracs
are coming down heavily..

Guys like that rock.

There was this guy they always showed on ''extreme'' TV,
Real TV and Max X, stuff like that, a guy that climbed
mountains with no harnasses or anything, and he wasn't just
hiking, he was climbing up the sheerest of cliffs with his
bare hands. Made me nauseous just to watch the clips.
Naturally he died a few years when he fell off a cliff.

Hey look, an extreme climber named Goran (quick google search, wish I could
remember the other guy's name, he's an ''extreme sports''
legend, anyone know him?)

What's the chance it's a hoax......... he hides on the
mountain for a week or so, then pop up at base-camp and says
he climbed it "solo"e.g no witnesses

Check out the link in the first post........

This guys in trouble...... stuck at 5900m, can't move up,
can't get down............ his team is trying to sort out a
helicopter rescue...

"Tomaž Humar's expedition to Nanga Parbat would like to put
a plead for a helicopter team, which would be prepared to
take up the rescue Tomaž from the face."

I think Tomaž is in the shit........ or it's a hoax.......

Time will tell.....................

right..it take them an hour or less..this guy goes 5 km
uphill when avalanches and seracs are coming down heavily.
he takes supplies for about two weeks time with him, he can
barely breathe because of the altitude and he musn't take
too
long sleeps (if any at all) because he might freeze..he won
a climbing prize that equals olimpic medal so that must
mean
something..

... that he takes drugs and should be stripped of his
climbing prize?

i don't think taking drugs would be such a good idea in
sport he's in.

Sorry Goran, I was taking the mick out of the Olympics - not
making a serious point about 'extreme climbing'.

my friend recently came back from a climbing trip in france,
says he fell off over 50m. I believe him cos he's a complete
nutcase over mountaineering, a bit like me and kayaking.
