Is reason the main proggie youve used? I have always hated
it due to my lack of attention

I've used Reason 2.5 and Fruityloops mainly -- right now I
prefer fL Studio 5 because I have some rad softsynths and
fX.

i have used logic audio (the cheapo version), to be honest i
have struggled with it. Have tried my cubase on my mates
computer, didn't like it one bit!

Have used reason a few times as well, quite like it, but
never had chance to put much time into it.

Garageband is ok, but a bit basic, kinda like the logic
audio that i have.

cubase is kind of odd. it ended up doing things that i didnt
really want to do which resulted in a number of good tracks.
I love mistakes sometimes!!

Never heard of garage band. Check out spectrasoft's
atmosphere

Garageband is an Apple only thing, made by Apple.

Similar to Acid. The software Acid that is, not being fucked
for 8 hours solid.

Oh ahahah! I prefer the software myself! :D

I love acid though. It was amongst one of my most used
programs next to cooledit. I was learning everytime i used
it. That was the best because i like to avoid manuals and
pretty much teach myself. Its more personally rewarding.

I really recommend the following:

Kontakt
Absynth 3

i was impressed by ableton live, but you can't start from
nothing in it. i prefer hardware contact and software
finalizing.

the new abelton 5 is amazing, but i think i'm gonna have to
go back to reason. its piss easy to use and you can whack
track after track after track without worrying about cpu.

logic is really powerful, you just have to get involved with
it. the same with cubase.

programs like reason, to me, seem like a pretty front with
not a lot going on inside. but perhaps i am guilty of not
experimenting enough.

But you can tell when somethings made in reason. its got a
simplicity to it. not that thats a bad thing.

I make all my own synths in MAX/MSP and Csound becuase.. NO
i will soon though. but its too boring. Cubase, battery,
absynth and reaktor. all you need. and also audiorealisms
303 emulation. and Recycle. def need recycle. and waves. and
mabey kontakt 2. and Live. which is amazing becuase i can
now use all by mp3s in it. yeaahhh
