still unfinished, but the basics are down. would love some
feedback for it.

Plantre - Druid

once completed, this track will be a part of a limited
availability Plantre 3" released on Earstroke Records in
early september. i still haven't thought of a name for the
EP yet!

:D

very nice, love the flange and delay changes during the
second half. also the beat fading up slowly sounds great.

The intro is quite paranoia inducing, I can hear arabic
swirls, the bedlam of an approaching jihad from across an
interminable desert, then the beats of some older race,
rising from the ground to reclaim their land.

Then the opiated glockenspiel melody reveals that we're
actually in an Edwardian surgery, and Max Hazlitt,
archeologist is laid out on the couch, recounting to his
doctor the strange visions that have assailed his dreams
since his return from the Far East, an expedition cut short
after he suffered a series of blackouts whilst investigating
some ancient ruins....

Goes on about a minute too long, mind.

Reminds me of Babylon-era Black Dog, is what I forgot to
say.

thanks! surprisingly, you aren't the first to extract this
kind of visual imagery from this track! i'm glad it has that
effect.

>"Goes on about a minute too long, mind"

you mean the very ending where that computery percussion
effect fades out (the outro), or the track itself?

...the track itself, but that's just my personal
opinion
, I might be wrong actually, having listened
about 3 times now, so don't pay attention. I am all into 1
minute long tracks at the minute so, you know, I'm biased.

hey, no problem man, i'm glad you took the time. the reason
i posted this was to see about things like length and
whatnot, i don't get offended by it, it's what i want to
hear! be harsh!

:D

tha'ts really fucking creepy and awesome. I got lost in it,
length wasn't an issue.

As you said, this is more "dope". Fabulous track! Lovely
beginning, fade out, and classy beats. (Maybe 1 min. too
long though, in the middle of it there is a [too] long
moment of "no-action").

thanks _gvarek_, i was hoping you'd dig this one, and i
posted this partially for the select few who expressed
interest in my material! thanks for checking it out.

when the ep is finished i'd probably order a copy, it'll be
the first earstroke cd?

correct, it will be the first. technically a cd-r, but it
will sound good. i'm getting it decently mastered and
whatnot. i'll probably paint the cover art, too!

cd-r.... too bad, my panasonic DVD player doesn't read this,
but I'm still interested (still got the computer...)

to me it sounds like more of the same - not more of the same
from you, this is the first track I've heard, but in an
'IDM-sense'.

I liked the last 30 seconds, though.

i'm not sure how i feel about being called "IDM"...

willi... you heard a very early version of this track, but
this is a newer one, and in fact, i am working on the final
draft right now!

My God.

When Plantre says that, then IDM is well and truly dead.

Good track BTW, what gaydad said - it's positively
Lovecraftian in the first part.
