i've been living with a guy with 600 watt sub woofers and
producing my music with the volume up pretty well to get
good sub reinforcement. i've noticed the quality of my
music jump up a notch production wise. anyone else
experience this?

of course, duh.
the louder the music the better it is...

when i was in high school i stole a box w/2-12" subs then
about 6months later is twas stolen from me

My mate produces on crap extension speakers. Not
surprisingly the range is small and it sounds shit.

subs isn´t good if you want results which sounds good on
other systems, not everyone got a sub and your track better
not be mixed for a sub then...

then again, some bass is always nice.
