hi i just got untilted in the mail ive just listened to lcc a bit and thought it sounded way more lush (more (mid)low and more definition) than the (first) leaked mp3 of it that ive listened to many times. hence my question |

it could have been unmastered, or it could have also been a low quality audio file. |

It's been discussed before, with Untilted you can hear the difference between mp3 and uncompressed audio. Thats probably the difference you are hearing. Did you compare it with the flac version as well? |

yea, that's really why i want to know, if it's the mp3 quality (was around 180 vbr i think) than that'll be my first own aural proof mp3 is less quality. but i can hardly believe it's just that, mainly because of the definition, ill try to get back a cd with the burnt leak from a friend of mine |

if the flac sounds less that that proofs your computer isnt designed for audio (though then you should try burning the flac for interesting experimentation) |

also, what sound system where you playing the legit version on? a high quality mp3 or a cd can both sound like shit on crappy computer speakers and sound great on a good setup. That probably wasn't the culprit in your situation, but it seemed worth suggesting. |

There should be no difference between the flac and the cd because flac is uncompressed. Atleast, it should be. Do you have the flac version? |

I can't hear this one sound on my speakers at the beginning of LCC, only with headphones. There's the beat, then the background drone/hum, and the sound I'm talking about is the sweeping 'psssssseeeuuuuu' that repeats every measure. I just tried it on my other speakers too and couldn't hear it. LCC seems to sound really terrible if the freq range isn't really flat and deep, my speakers are too coloured or something and not enough bass, even with the 5.1's in the living room. Have to use my ear-buds. |

With headphones you always hear more details, unless you have high-end speakers and play the music at a very high volume level while you are placed in the centre of the speakers. |

my compu and my cd player are both hooked up to my (pretty okay) stereo. dont forget you have good and bad cd players though btw (that's what a recordplayer and highend stereo salesman explained to me anyway) k: the beats sounded more lush with the cd, the ambient, melody stuff sounded more detailed, the ratling sound in the background of it for instance i could hear way more clearly (ill specify that maybe later, as im at work now) |
