I've recently come to love this little plastic sports
utensil -- my friend at work brought his in a couple of
weeks ago and since then a few of us have been playing
whenever we can - I never realised how much fun it is! A
quick flick of the wrist, a release at just the right time,
and presto! a wondrous arc of plastic circularity sweeps
through the air to hit your opponent on the noggin,
marvellous stuff.

do you play just "throw-catch-throw" or the more complex
"frisbee-golf" and "trick frisbee" games?

Well since only about two people are actually properly
skilled in the frisbee, we usually just play throw-catch
varieties... the boy whose frisbee it is learnt playing on
the beaches of Majorca or something for 8 weeks a couple of
summers ago - he has a beautiful throw -- that one where you
hold it underneath and kinda throw it like a clay-pigeon
machine throws a clay pigeon - pure and sweet it floats.
I've improved though, and I've succeeded in that throw a
couple of times. It is of great fun. I've got a couple of
them into the sport of jumping onto the skip backwards and
turning 180 or 360 degrees to land upon the platform behind
it - that is a fun activity, but not frisbee-related.

doesn't take more than two to play frisbee golf, and it's a
great summer activity for those "it's too fucking hot to
actually DO anything" days. Throw in some beers and you've
got an activity that in no way could be camouflaged as being
masculine, but still is great fun. is it a pro frisbee
(weighted and stuff), or just a regular one?

His first one was an old Orangina one which has lasted
forever - the second one resembles Captain Marvel's shield
(I think) -- they are both pretty damned cool. I'll ask him
if he knows of this Frisbee Golf...

heh.. it's pretty easy

basically, you each need one frisbee, and then you pick
targets (or "holes" if you want to complete the analogy)
that you're all throwing your frisbee at. then you play as
you would golf.. the guy who uses less throws to hit the
targets wins.

Yep that sounds pretty fun - I'll see if we can play that
next time I'm there - thanks for the heads up, Drunken
Mastah.

Druken Mastah, is it a fairly common game out in Norway?

I'm not sure where it originated, but very cool that you
have it out there.

heh.. no, I wouldn't call it common.. it's not something you
see often, but then again, neither is normal frisbeeing...

on the contrary, dear sir, thank you for providing
such a pleasant topic in these late nights, but I fear I
must retire to my bed now.

I have always loved throwing the frisbee around with
friends.
We always love taking the frisbee to the beach and chucking
it around.
I also played on a team for a few years - a game called
"Ultimate Frisbee"...Itss kinda a mix between soccer and
football...Very Very fun.

Good call....Nowadays my girlfriend and I go over to the
park near her house and throw the friz around....

FUN TIMES

I am pleased to note that your avatar features Ron Burgundy,
Anchorman -- I greatly enjoyed this film: did you like the
scene where they have a gang fight?

Oh man, this whole movie cracks me up everytime I watch
it....

Its one of the funniest movies in the last few years
IMO....

everytime."

I play on an ultimate frisbee team. It's not official, but
we do play against some official teams and some university
teams as well. Great sport.

i probably started playing frisbee around 15 or 16. back
then i played it all the time, both golf and catch, but
lately it's been on and off. i'm from minneapolis and we
have tons of frisbee golf courses.

the feeling of the perfect firsbee toss is incomparable.
