any idea what his new album may sound like? can he go more minimal? i really hope he'll surprise us with even less of everything and we'll look at 'closer' like something rich in sound.. |

my favorites are the tracks "psyk" and "pakard" from artifacts bc. he's overdue for a really radical change, it feels like he's been coasting for years. |

living in windsor, ontario.. where hawtin (and his bro) grew up was quite an experience for me.. seeing him at the local TIM HORTINS (well-known, addictive coffee shop) and at MANY events in detroit and passing by 'the building' in the downtown area many times.. i've grown to love the older material (call them classics now) and have since veered away from his dj material and new(er) stuff as it just doesn't have the same groovy, funky flavor of 'ol. i used to be a 'plastikprodukt' member back in the early 90s, a (physical) mailing list giving you news about current events related to plastikman and friends (+8 and the side-labels, aquaviva et al) --and i specifically remember a 3" plastikprodukt CD that still, even to this day, gets some rotation around here. it features the AMAZING "friends are electrik?" live version spanning about 10+ minutes in length... simply an incredible, ageless track........ sorry for my rambling, i'll have to pull out the old 12's and give them another spin... pietro. |
