I recently watched life aquatic for the first time and was hooked by the minimalist electronic soundtrack composed by mark mothersbaugh. were any of you guys impressed? it sounded very French to me, but that is just my ignorance i suppose. |

yes, it's an awesome soundtrack. love those seu jorge's covers of david bowie as well!! and the film is fantastic!! |

of course there are blatant references to Jacques-Yves Cousteau. i was just considering what made that soundtrack seem so generically french when all i can think of in terms of french electronic bands are Air. |

he was in devo many many years ago. and he did the theme to the rugrats as well as other wes anderson movies. |

i love the life aquatic soundtrack. the electro is excellent, but there are only one or two tracks like that on there. he also did bottle rocket, rushmore, and royal tenenbaums soundtracks if you're interested. the classical tunes on rushmore are excellent. |
