What is your opinion of Steve Reich?
Personally, i think he's a really amazing and influential musician that has taught me alot about texture. I'm listening to 'drumming' at the moment and it's so tribal and then transforms to this beautiful gamalean (spelling?) piece almost seemlessly.
I was very lucky to see 'Six Mambrias' and 'Violin Phase' at the 2004 Royal Festival Hall gig. That whole night was amazing.

He gets a thumbs up from me: Good tunes. Anyone who lacks the attention span to listen to one of his full pieces should check out 'Reich: Remixed' Whole tracks neatly condensed down.

Reich is very good.
I certainly wouldn't agree on "Reich: remixed" though - a terrible album, such a missed chance.
