still the best music of 2005 in my opinion!

hope we get to hear some new stuff soon, like late 2005 or
early 2006...

i still think this album is not very good ; the best music
i've heard of 2005 so far is the new Lord Quas

Quasimoto - The Further Adventures of Lord Quas (PIAS)
3star
Kate Bradbury

HELLO 'Moto! The latest effort from the mysterious Lord Quas
- Madlib with his voice speeded up - is as mixed up and
bizarre as you’d imagine.

Comedy vocals, high octane lyrics and insane samples are the
order of the day on this 28-track phenomenon which features
tracks that will send you spinning out of reality.

Track three, Crime, says it all: "Everyone finds that
they’re more creative stoned than straight. All of us are
latent Michelangelos…..or Da Vincis."

Later, Madlib’s helium-voiced alter-ego raps about bullies
stealing girls and food - "I’m a bully / Give me that girl
/ Give me that food” he says in a straightforward way.

Just recognisable is Madlib’s usual soul and jazz-funk
style found on his more serious work, but it's been mashed
up with educational announcements, sci-fi samples and other
strange and unfathomable noises.

It's not all fun and games though - poignant lyrics like
"What's the prettiest thing you ever seen? / The sun pushing
down, making things grow / The silence in the dawn when a
car goes past” on Bartender Say give this album a variety
of levels to get lost in.

The perfect treat for someone who thinks they hear voices in
their head.

Released May 2, 2005.

lyrics are weird ; but those aren't rapped here, they are
samples , there's a lot of samples on this record...

not enough melody in this album, as with every even-numbered
album they do.... my favourite albums have always been the
odd-numbered ones, much more melody: Incunabula, Tri
Repetae, LP5, Draft 7.30

even-numbered ones (amber, chiastic slide, confield,
untilted) are just rhythmic-focused albums with not much
melody.
guess i'll have to wait for their next album to hear some
really good autechre...

but why does it have to have melody to be good? what is
melody?

Melody, melody, blah, blah, if you want melody - listen to
The Beatles, they made loads of good ones. Untitled is a
good album. Period.

autechre is really good on each and every release - if you
really like what they do. if you "expect" you might be
"dissapointed".

i don't like their previous work all that much, except for
confield, surripere and some remixes but this is something
else. ipacial section and iera are fantastic!! the rest of
it is brilliant as well but those two stand out for me.

cautella falls short of untilted with all the "filler"
tracks richard devine puts on his CD's.

surripere ? what about VL AL 5 ? its mood is quite similar.
since you like untilted you might as well enjoy about 50% of
draft.

It's better than Draft 7.30, but still the best album by
Autechre is LP5. Anyone got that to sell?

marijuana praising can get very annoying.
