Do you listen to French music every now and then ? If yes,
tell me which artists. I'm really wondering what other
people know and think of french tunes !

French hiphop is great, I especially like the stuff luke
vibert spins on his "live on radio tilos" dj set.

don't understand a word but the flow is beautiful.

JMJ, of course.

Daft Punk
Air....................hmm..........................

no other clues...... The thing I like most in france is
Roland Garros!

do you mean bands like NTM and IAM (old school hh) or rather
bands like TTC and the Klub des loosers (rather electro hh)?

only a few...

• Air
• Noir Désir
• "Unreasonable Behaviour" by Laurent Garnier (the other
tracks i've heard by him, from different albums, were just
ok but this album is really great)

Klub des Losers has some pretty brilliant lyrics ("La Femme
De Fer" for example...) but i'd rather listen to this the
same way i read a witty text, not really for the music. i'm
not a fan of Daft Punk.

I'm not sure,

I know that the cd is pressed in a small german press, and
that most of the titles are in french, and the singer
"sounds" french, (I'm just taking a guess)

ULAN BATOR, that's some ice-cool guitar 'sic right there.
They're probably my favorite latter-day French group. And
France had a great art-prog scene back in the day. Magma,
Moving Gelatine Plates, etc.

M83 are from France, aren't they?

is lame?!

anyhow, some french stuff that i listen to:
DDAA
Jerome Noetinger
ErikM
Lionel Marchetti (not 100% certain of his frenchnuss
however)
Julien Ottavi
Philip Besombes
Pole (avec un circomflex sur le "o")
Eliane Radigue
Pierre Schaeffer
Pierre Henry
Ghedalia Tazartes (very uncertain that he's french, but it's
quite possible)
Red Noise
Horrific Child
Fille Qui Mousse
Horde Catalytique

You mean they weren't really French? Fucking hell what sort
of teach yourself French course was that? I have wasted
years of my life. No wonder the frogs look at me funny when
I use one of there most common phrases "Listen carefully, I
shall say this only once"
