Yes. Opeth. The best metal band ever. Not for those with a
weak stomach. Brutal yet melancholic, furious yet moving.

Using only the standard rock instruments they achieve a
beautiful and complex sound that others can only dream of.

Here
[L-->R]
Peter Lindgren - Guitars.
Mikael Akerfeldt - Vocals, guitar.
Martin Lopez - Drums
Martin Mendez - Bass

Who knows them? Does anybody on the board enjoy metal music
at all?

[I got a ready-to-post mp3 with their song for your
conveniance, but I`m not sure if it`s allowed...]

Oh, I lost hope already.

I`ve only heard about them, isn`t it quite a radical band?
(with corpse-paint and so on...), or am I in the wrong
area?

I don't know, as i not interested in the image. I find the
music however to be really very stimulating and brutal. Very
complex structures at times, crazy poly-rhythmic drumming.

I do have to be in the mood for it, but, i dig it.

yes, opeth is probably my favorite metal band. i had first
downloaded deliverance on a whim a while ago and found it
difficult to listen to, it was too intense! then i realized
how musically driven they were, really excellent stuff. the
dvd (lamentations) is great too.
