..but how can one check they actually have it in
stock? I've been to a few webshops where it didn't say
anything about availability, but when I added it to the
shopping cart and was going to check out it said
"backorder," which means the order would stand, but they'd
just be asking the record company for the cds while I
know they're all out of them so it'd just be a month
of waiting before they'd figure out they couldn't actually
get it...

I have a fair portion of his discography. You can find a lot
on leo records and on hathut too. Some are out of print
though, including the Willisau box set which is one great
recording.
His standards projects are pretty good on the whole but it's
his own compositions which makes him special. I recommend
the eight for tristano record for more of the standards
sound.

yeah, I already checked leo records.. sold out.

can't find anything on hathut.

you won't find 23 standards on hathut anyway, on hathut
you'll find a live set from 1977 in switzerland, the 2cd
charlie parker project and a duo featuring braxton and max
roach. They're apart of the hatology series btw, but then
again they might be sold out too.
You probably won't be able to order it if it's not available
on leo.

yeah, that's what I thought, but then again - some obscure
little shop may have just one copy left somewhere...
