i thought it maybe would be fun starting playing a acoustic
guitar or somthing or maybe a piano buts its to expensive to
buy i think.

What instrument do you play ?

a the moment with "'pureness of sounds'"

i don't know about that, but it certainly is the most
"pretentious" topic ever :)

I've been playing guitar for 5 years (though I've all but
stopped practically) because I've put all my energy into
learning keys/piano, which I've been playing for about 2
years now. I think I've lost a little guitar skill, though
I'm still pretty proficient (probably about 80% of my old
skill), but I'm fine with that because I enjoy keyboards
much more, and I am better at them.

I honestly think it's different for everyone. Not to give
myself too much credit, but I've been playing keyboards for
just under 2 years and pretty much everyone I play for tells
me I am very good or a natural. I took 2 months of piano
lessons when I was 9, and then didn't touch keys again until
age 18. In 2 short years, proficiency wise, I was lightyears
ahead of where I was with guitar in the same amount of time.
Even after having played guitar regularly for 5 years, I had
met people who had been playing for only 3 that were far
better than me. I think taking those 2 months of lessons
when I was young may have hardwired myself for piano to be
more intuitive to me. All I know is that I get 50x the
amount of enjoyment out of playing my synths than I do out
of playing my 400 dollar acoustic or my 600 dollar electric
guitar. (don't know why I mentioned price, since the total
price of my keyboards was more than my guitars).

At 18 how did you learned to play piano? That's always what
I'm wondering...

Books? Self-playing? Video? Teacher? You learned to read
partitions?

And how much time did you put onto it per week?

i think it's a the hardest instrument to learn after violin
but yes once you've learnt it it's great cause you can play
a lot of things
nevertheless you need to be good in music theory and reading
of notes to play the piano

i remember in the school, learning piano jajaja!

"bear" i never can play it

piano isn't the second hardest instrument, and violin isn't
the hardest... basically any non-tempered instrument
(violins, cellos.. any instrument that doesn't have set
steps) is fifty times harder than a tempered one (piano,
guitar.. clearly defined steps) as you have to know
exactly where to put your fingers with the
non-tempered ones.

i play keyboards, drums, and guitars. guitar is the one i
play the most, because i came from an appalachian family.
when i started hearing guys like eddie van halen or steve
vai and so on, i wanted to play shred guitar, but i'm just
not precise enough yet. so i take a looser,
improvisational, zen kind of approach to the instrument, and
try to groove on the timbres and resonations and so on,
rather than trying to be the best. it's led me into ragas
and that, droney kind of stuff, even my bloody
valentine-inspired effects experimentation. for me, my
favourite aspect of playing music is the physical exercise
of it, the feeling of working my hands in new ways or
thrusting my body into a drum pattern.

I've played guitar for a big bunch of years and I'm thinking
about learning piano. Don't know if I have the time or
ambition, though. I want to buy a decent-but-not-expensive
piano to put in my room, and I'd definitely get professional
lessons. The guy who taught me me how to play guitar was
excellent.

i have ordered an acoustic guitar called
Fender DG-5SBST
i think its a good guitar it costed around 180 euro or 214
usd
i have no skills in playing guitar from before so it will be
a chalenge to learn how to play

imagine how great it would be to be able to play like Nick
Drake which inspired me to buy a guitar

one of the hardest things to get through at the start is
waiting for nerves to weaken/calluses to form on your
fingertips. When you first start playing, its going to hurt
like shit.

I don't even have calluses on my fingers anymore, but when I
pick up a guitar and play, it doesn't hurt my fingers at
all. Well, unless I play for longer than a half hour
straight. I think the nerve endings just died a little bit
on the tips or something.

theres always room, though you may need to sacrifice another
article of furniture to find it. :D

My living room in my appartment is completely devoted to
music, theres only enough room to sit on the couch and watch
tv or work with our korg recorder which is sitting on the
coffee table... the rest of the space is taken up by amps, 6
guitars (only 2 of which get played at a time), 2 keyboards,
and drums.
