Your top singers of all time and why:

Michael Williams of EHG.

Mike has this amazing ability to sound like he feels and
that utterly reflects his grim view on his corrupted area.
Some where in New Orleans he is getting doped up with his
band and generally hating life.

The music sounds run down and shitty and like its dying and
that accruately reflects the setting and his personal
viewpoint making the music more personal.

Recommended song: Eyehategod - depress

------------------------

Tim Armstrong of Rancid.

Tim has this beautiful youthful "i dont get a fuck" sound.
Watching the videos this is perfectly portrayed. He is like
the poster child of what a punk is and should look like.
Completely awesome voice! Not much to add to that. Just
overall i really like his voice.

Recommended song: Rancid - Salvation (i am sharing it for
the time being)

Nic Newsham from Gatsbys American Dream. His voice is high
pitched and gruff at the same time, and it sounds so fucking
cool.

Bjørk
obvious reasons.

Bertine Zetlitz
her voice sounds kind of clinical and sterile, but in a
really good way! It's erotic-ish...

Tom Waits
you can almost feel all the bars he's been to when he sings.
They're all brown and dark and shitty.. this would be the
feeling I get even if I find out Tom Waits has never been to
a bar (thought I doubt he's never been to a bar), and it's
what he's trying to accomplish, I think.

Tom Waits
Captain Beefheart
Robert Wyatt
Dagmar Krause

Their lyrics are interesting. They have good ability and
tone.

Sandra and Ellen Dedrick of the Free Design, by far. They
just have the most perfect timbre, and so impossibly
wholesome and sweet. They have no peer, they're the closest
I've ever come to truly loving a woman.

Harry Nilsson of... Harry Nilsson, because he's got it going
on technically and could hit any note and sing/scat whatever
he wanted, but he also had charismatic intangibles in his
voice. Personality and range of the technical, stylistic and
emotional variety. Closest I've come to ever truly loving a
another man. Normally guys as eclectic as he was have
endearingly flawed voices, but his was perfect, a package I
can't find anywhere else.

Darkhorse pick, maybe Edwyn Collins of the Orange Juice.
Originally his camp voice made it hard for me to really
''get'' them but now it sounds like heaven.

PJ Harvey
she has an incredibly versatile voice - she changes it from
one song to the next. Sometimes she sounds like a little
girl, the next a seasoned punk, and it oozes sexiness all
the time.
Recommended - 'Catherine', 'To Bring You My Love'

Mimi Parker from Low
just pure sweetness.
Recommended - 'Shame', 'Two-Step'

Paul Banks from Interpol
Beautiful rich baritone. Its such a strong and monotone
sound. Like Ian Curtis who is also excellent.
Recommended - 'NYC', 'A Time To Be So Small'

Man theres too many, totally agree with Tom Waits, also Neil
Young, Kim Gordon from SY, Mr Lidell, it goes on...

emotions than him while singing.

Jeff Buckley
Not only is his voice perfect but he puts a lot of emotion
into his songs (or the songs of others).

Elliott Smith
I can think of more with a better voice than he has but
there's just something special about him.

daryl palumbo of Glassjaw

When we look back on their CD "Everything you wanted to know
about silence" you will find such classic's as "ryry's song"
and "piano" which just mirror a magnificant brillance in his
voice. While at first it comes off ugly and needy it
transforms when you learn the lyrics and his mind set.

A music gave the compairison of Glassjaw being a cross
between Buddy Holly and Bad Brains. Not that i agree but its
a step in some sort of "right direction".

Glassjaw being one of the few scremo bands i like because of
the raw emotion that he puts into each and every song. He
has been one of my all time favorites for a long time.

Thom Yorke, because I think his voice has a great
personal touch. There is a lot of emotion that can be heard
as he sings.

i like Beck, but whenever i listen to him now i
automatically think "hmm ... what does he do at his
scientology sessions ....?" that's kinda annoying, since i
listen to beck since i'm 9 years old and he was always one
of my Favs.
but i like beck, cause i feel him.
