I'm thinking of buying this headphone. Does anyone have
experience with this one?
I'm not going to use it for DJ-ing or something, just to
listen music and plugging it into my clavinova.

Is this a good choice or are there other ones you'd
recommend?

ta in advance.

aren't the 280s rather dj-ish with their extreme isolation?

how much money you spending?

What do you want to spend for a decent headphone Morton?

rs65 ok
grado good
large cups that dont touch your ear are probably the best

anyway.. open are better for just listening.. less bad
resonance.

hd595 is good (open)
ultrasone hfi 650 (I have these myself. closed. I use them
for monitoring and scratching and stuff)
agree with tftp on grados
if you want some that can work with portable stuff too, hd25
(closed, but they don't surround the entire ear. they're "on
top" of it)
beyerdynamic dt660 are also supposed to be good (closed)

i already got a wireless sony one,
now i want one with a wire and i prefer a closed one.
and i'm thinking of spending about 100 euros (150 max)

i thought of beyerdynamic too, also Koss or stanton, but
aren't they all dj-ish brands?
the 280 indeed got this extreme isolation but that's ok,
they say it's got a very good bass and this way i won't
disturb my gf when playing for instance some merzbow :)

I've got them 280 Pro. It depends on what you want to do
with them. Are you first of all a little into high-fidelity
? What type of music ? 'Cause perhaps something more lovely
like a pair of Grado Labs SR-60 could fit the pattern. Or
heck some Koss PortaPro.

I've bought the 280 cause I wanted to take the subway and
actually hear my music. They're great for that.

Hmm, it doesn't have "good" bass. It's there like a
motherfuck, but not the medium bass. Just the deep bass
that's gonna appear where you didn't know it existed. So
you'll experience a little less bass probably than any other
pair of headphones you've ever wear, but the bass *will* be
more realistic.

if you're worrying about the beyerdynamics and koss' and
stuff like that being dj-ish why are you considering the
hd280s? they are for dj-ing...

the ultrasone hfi650s have great soundstage, but I have no
idea what you're looking for in a headphone when listening
to merzbow... maybe a wide frequency-range, in which case
the hd250 II should be very suitable (5 - 40000 Hz (-10 dB)
10 - 25000 (-3 dB))

Check this Morton, this is a discount you can't
resist because it's one of the best Sennheisers out there.
I have it as well and it is top-notch! I can wear it for
hours non-stop without getting sweaty ears or feeling
pressure on my ears.

Trust me this is a one time opportunity!
