BoC IS UNTOPPABLE

No one can beat these guys, they have been my favorite for
ages, but ive considered Autechre and some other people to
be "better" even though I dont like them as much. All that
has changed, Boards of Canada now live in my mind as the
greatest musical artists of all time. I am so impressed with
Geogaddi the hair on my arms is standing up and has been
since I waited outside the recordstore first thing this AM.
Archrival you are right, this album is... I cant even
describe it. Whoa.

Altho Aphex twin is my favorite of all IDM, BOARD OF CANADA
ARE AWESOME!!! I just discovered them last night and I've
downloaded like 50 mp3s since and I can't get enough.

peace

just discovered them last night? nice timing mate, you at
least didnt have ot wait 4 years while those lazy bastards
made their new album :) It was worth every month though,
holy cow was it ever. I have never had such high
expectations for a release and been so completely
overwhelmed by its SHEER AWESOMENESS.

i just got into them last night...or a couple nights ago i
dunno...they're awesome but i could only get about 5 mp3's
b4 i had to leave. so w/e...i wanna get theyre new album is
it expensive??

on a totally different matter, this probly sounds really
stupid but, what is IDM???

IDM=Intellegent Dance Music

The name given for a genre including Autechre, Aphex Twin,
Boards of Canada, etc... you got the point.

I beleive the press made up IDM to discribe what kind of
music these atrists make.

Yeah!!! Taoist, I totally agree with that.

I had absurd expectations for this release, and what can I
say.......THEY DID IT, the perfect album! Not one filler
imo. This is my type of album, nice beats and nice
melancholy melodies.

And all the subliminal stuff just makes geogaddi better :)

You guys are ALL sooooo right on.
I was really holding up some high expectations for Geogaddi,
and hell, BOC surpassed ALL of them....
Now that the new info has been posted, I can easily say that
YES, this IS the album of 2002.
A new day is rising and the only ones who see it know of
Geogaddi.....

Have BoC only done the two albums then? I have Music has the
Right to Childre. How come there are so many tracks about?
Do the singles have about 8 B sides?

Geogaddi is mind blowing. I, like everone else, had really
high expectations and BoC gave me more that I hoped for.
It's got amazing beats, melodies and depth. I only hope
Ae's next release will be as great as this. That would make
my year.

I cant believe how good 1969 is, and the 2nd. 3rd, and 4th
songs are awesome as well (dont knOW titles, dont have case
with me) This albun is interesting, its liek their old sound
that we all love, but theres something different... ZI dont
knwo if its because the production is so much better or
what, it sounds far mroe "lush" then their earlier stuff. A
truly fantastic addition to the BoC catalogue!

yeah, but theres no stand out track like on Music.., alpha
and omega is great but its not aquarius. don't get me wrong
though its a great album just not quite as good as i would
have liked.

one thing that annoys me though is that it seems that the
journos here are all creaming about it becuase they think
they should and because slagging it off would be sacrilege.

I dont know man, I think 1969 is pretty damn stand out. I
havent read any reviews yet, but I think any praise these
guys get is totally warranted. When I first heard MHTRTC I
hated it, (what was I thinking?) maybe it jsut has to grow
in you a little more.

yep, agree, they are musical geniuses, but you can spend too
long on an album and overproduce it which is what i think
they have done a tad. quite unlike the prolific rdj.

...to the mutha.

Then again I cant really look at it objectively, if BoC
farted in a bag I would buy it.

truely the best album of the year. Its a great departure
from drukqs' full on sonic rugby tackle.

it reminds a bit on Smokes Quantity. Jamie and... (can't
remember the track) has a very interesting melody, i get
cold, just when i think at the melody. BoC let's me think
about things i never believed, cuz, it's like you will be
born, really born :) the most ppl's of this planet can't see
the diffrence, i dunno, have the ears for the real
electronic ambient or whatever music ?
