do them if you want but be accurate, the mods there love
accurate submissions.. and you will have to WAIT for them to
check your pending submission

Dear Discogs User,

As you will have noticed, Discogs was offline since
yesterday. We experienced a cascade of problems with the
servers yesterday that ended with the whole site
inaccessible to everyone including the system admin's. Since
then, we have been working hard on a solution to getting us
up and running again.

Thankfully, the server that hosts the help.discogs.com site
has been revived, and this may allow us to get the whole
site running again. However, this is an extremely technical
job, and may take some time to complete.

One of the web servers has come back online now, but it is
very slow and there are no images ect either.

I would like to ask everyone to please NOT hammer the server
(i.e. constantly hit refresh etc), and I would advise
against trying to do anything at all until we manage to get
the site running smoothly again.

We apologize, and ask you all the be patent while we try and
figure out a solution. In the meantime, if you need to
contact me with an urgent matter, please use the form at the
bottom of here.

Yours Sincerely

Nik | Discogs Community Manager

"Official communication was the first thing that happened
when we got the site up again, in this thread and via email.
I have done as much as possible communication given the
circumstances, short of emailing every user.

Discogs is not a corporate site, we are a site built by
enthusiasts from the ground up. The outages / poor
performance are not good, but I have communicated the
problems and the timescale with which they will be fixed.
Everything that could be done has been done, all we have to
do is wait a few more days to return to hopefully proper
performance, then another week or two to enjoy the benefits
of brand new servers coming online.

Discogs is in constant evolution, this outage / performance
problem is a minor blip in that evolution. Thanks to
everyone for their support and understanding!"
