They were very good, actually, but I don't expect you, nor anyone to like them. That's not a criticism, it's just, I don't konw anyone who likes them. Only once I was in a pub and "To earth with love" (not, sadly, directed toward the XLT member, unless it was) and a table full of what appeared to be teachers, all went "Whooo" in a "Ohh, our favourite song" type way. |

I actually bought the "To Earth With Love" single when it came out. At the time they were touted as the saviours of British rock & roll in the music press, if I remember correctly. I quite liked them - kind of glam indie-rock stuff, but I wasn't bowled over by their follow-up singles and I didn't buy an album. I remember talking to my 6th form tutor at the time in school, and he'd actually been to Durham University with Cliff Jones, the singer. |
