Can/Faust/Amon Duul II, that sort of thing. I've been listening to quite a bit of it again lately, may as well make a topic about it for Kraut fans. There's even some traces of electronics here and there, cuntychuck. Favorites, recos, whatever.
My favorite crap from that era/movement is Siddharta, Ege Bamyasi-era Can because of its extra tightness, Manual Gottsching (from Ash-Ra Temple, his E2-E4, now that's electronic music), and Oktober (nice dramatic classical krautprog-synth with a cool rythym section). And the Moving Gelatine Plates, but I guess that's more Canterbury, plus they're French. Either way, genres aside, I just loved how ambtious all these type or grops were, but it's all a bit tongue in cheek so it works so well.
I think the best Kraut moment ever is the freak-out in Faust's ''Meadow Meal''.
