Anybody else go to this? Just got back from it, was
awesome! He's such a crazy bastard. Was a fantastic gig but
sometimes he went TOO FAR, just taking the piss when he
drags out one track to last 20 minutes. But at least that
means he's got enthusiasm, no doubt about that!
Saw someone in an aphex shirt, said something like come on
you c*nt into their ear although don't know if they got it.
If the other dates aren't sold out, go for it UK people!

yea, what are the chances of seeing someone wearing an aphex
t-shirt at a lidell gig!?

sounds nice. I've mostly heard really good things about
Lidell live.

I really disliked his last album, so I'm wondering if live
is just something completely different.

he does accapella style. if was dark in skin colour that
would be beatbox. No?

Yeah, it's very very different to the albums. I was
expecting live drums or bass, but 90% of it was from his
mouth. Best white beatboxer I've seen. He would switch
between classic soul, RnBish beatboxing/vocals, and really
hard sort of glitchy house (I'm crap at pigeonholing like
this).

Haha, you should have been at the Warp meets London
Sinfonietta gig, 80% of his act was pure improvised chaotic
structured beatboxing deafening noise/music untill he sang
Multiply.

You should have seen the facial expression of some elder
people, once he began to sing, HA!

I've seen this video before, in Amsterdam he did a slightly
rougher version of this performance.

I guess he was a bit high on drugs and interpret the sound
of high frequentie noises in a different way than most of
the audience.

Scroll down.

It's a pleasure to watch/hear him performing time after
time.

i#ve seen him twice live now, fantastic stuff. sometimes it
can get a bit iffy, but he always pulls the sound back
together, and by god, the man got souuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuul

okay. maybe i'll have to give this guy another chance. we
got the promo for the new album a few weeks ago and i had to
fight myself off with both fists just to not take it out and
get through to the end. but if everybody here says his other
stuff is great...well. okay. for the team.

he was dressed like a fucking knob, he looks like a yuppie,
and his beatboxing was very, very poor. nothing special at
all.

also, he was pressing buttons (ooooohhhhh TALENT), and
making stuff loop. instead of making something musical it
all went horribly wrong and .. was just awful. i was left
wondering whether it was meant to be like that video of
ashlee simpson fucking up at the superbowl, but obviously
not, since the puff is signed to warp.

people actually cheered at the end?.. fuck off.

if you want some beatboxing, i'd go elsewhere that's for
sure. this guy just seems like a richkid twat on a stage
without any talent.
