Recommend me some music

So, I'm looking to make a decent sized order of cds/vinyls
soon.

I'm stuck at home with a broken collarbone and music is
constantly playing.

Here is a list of all the music I own (Not all of
it is in the xltronic discography)

The latest find I've really gotten into is The Books. Is
there any other 'folktronica' type stuff maybe you'd think
I'd like? Or even some indie stuff?

Also lately I've had a hankering for the old stuff. Black
Dog, Bola (well not exactly old, but carries that sound to
it), stuff like that. I've been meaning to get some B12.

Maybe some ambient stuff. I've been sleeping a lot lately
from the medication I'm on.

So basically, if anyone feels like it, recommend me some
stuff. What are you listening to right now? YEAH!

have you ever listened to Big Soup?

I find it to be very humorous.

Amen Andrews is just mental jungle stuff, but also with
typical vibert crazyness.

Tobin tends to get a bit serious from time to time..

What's fun about yokota? :P

*Growing more and more depressed about the musical
suggestions that are popping up in the messageboard. Moves
into a corner to sulk*

hello mr. elitist. won't you please crawl out of your corner
and share with us your superior suggestions?

oh and redrum: apparently the guy like electronic music.
Silly of us to recommend more electronic music!

I am not going to suggest anything. Every single time I
browse all my files, to think of some albums to suggest to
people, nobody ever acknowledges them, even when they are
very good suggestions. I would just rather save my energies.

Altho, I wouldn't call it elitism. Just differing tastes,
and I can't stand practically everything that has been
suggested so far. So I am going to go an seep into an even
further corner and sulk.

totally. :P

it's good to expand one's horizons. there's good music in
every genre, i'm quite certain, you just have to look.
pigeonholing yourself is doing your life a disservice.

and also.. the only reason i posted that was that i couldn't
have been arsed thinking of some electronica that he might
dig that he doesn't have, so i reccomended that fz thread
since i'd just been on it.

he doesn't have any Claro Intelecto. I'd reccomend
Neurofibro.. can't go wrong. :) [there, that better?]

i don't like the term folktronica :S

their second album is also excellent, more solid i think.
the 3rd one was ...well, i listened to it about once. i
should give it another chance maybe.

I prefer the term ambience to anything, really. Most of the
stuff I listen to isn't just pads and drones, but its more
mood based than melody or beats.

Mum's 3rd album (Summer Made Good) is a lot more minor key,
some of the tracks grow on you but it doesn't really reach
the same heights as the first two, they work best when their
writing happy tunes IMO.

if you're feeling really down and can't really do much in
the way of movement then try to get hold of any Michael
Stearns album and just put it on and play it from start to
finish and clear you mind totally of any thoughts. The music
is really powerful ambience and it allows you imagination to
be unleashed and you can find yourself in a sort of living
dream. (kinda like that dream the dude from Fight Club has
in the film when he sees the ice caves)

its damn amazing katharsis.

Oh and some of the best old school Bola style ambience
resides on the Fax and Recycle or Die labels respectivley.

I recommend either of the S.H.A.D.O albums (Fax) or Peter
Benisch's Waiting for Snow (Fax) and Ralph Hildenbeutal or
Steve Bezet on Recycle or Die.

alright i've got some searches running in soulseek. thanks
for the suggestions :)

taxidermist, i'd love to hear some suggestions from you. i
guarantee i'll give them a good, honest listen.

surely someone who joined a messageboard based around a
certain kind of music can't have a gigantic difference in
musical taste than all the members here, right?

today.
