I actually listened to it all the way through for the first
time and thought it was quite funny. I think the humour was
lost originally because everyone was gagging for a decent
aphex release. Now we have 11 slabs of richard.d.jams soul
is it not worth futher probing integretation. Question Mark?

the only thing i'm still mad about is that i'd heard it,
knew i hated it, and when i one day saw it in the used bin
for 6 bucks i bought it anyways. now it's taking up space on
my shelf. hmph.

The Smojphace EP is astounding, moving art. It's not his
fault you don't understand it.

I was joking. :-)

I was very annoyed with the release at the time, but now I
see it is a bit of fun, a joke really.

I think there is still a lot of learn about noisecore.
i.e. lots of uncharted territory.no hints ricardo.

the noise was 'interesting'...but the remix was pure
effluence. blah.

comparing merzbow and smojphace's noise tracks is silly,
they sounds like white noise wich may be a common point, but
majority of merzbow's works (particularly those ressembling
ktpa) are totally random noise tracks, very VERY long, cut
short for release...

the b-side tracks from smojphace are the opposite, they are
way more like hecker noise tracks, totally sequenced and
synthesized, thought-out and structured

i remember going to see ed dmx at the time it came out and
asking him "what the fuck is richard on with those noise
tracks?" and he was just like "no, i think he's really into
it"

then he would say that.....

he plays merzbow type of noise live though..which makes me
think smojphace was a bit of a joke.

he played the hecker 12" with the lock-groove that year, as
well as touring with russel haswell, which is a mega
influence for his recent noise output...

the ktpa tracks are exactly that: a cross between hecker,
afx and russel haswell

a joke it is not imo
aphex airlines was a joke played on virgin, but the track
itself wasn't made as a joke, just like the 3 noise tracks
from the live show in 93 for the nasa something, he just
like those noisey tracks :p (as do i!)
