Jaga Jazzist - What we must

the vinyl just arrived at the local store, and I bought it.
listening now, and I've heard mp3s before, but it's even
better now!

not "classic" jaga.. a bit more poppy and seemingly
structured (although it's just mostly simpler, not more
structured, so it's easier to spot the structure). I prefer
livingroom hush and the stix over this, but it's still a
good record.. not done listening yet, though...

recommended. samples

the stix is great! very electronic sounding compared to this
one, though...

WOAH> Thanks for introducing me to this. The samples I'm
hearing now is very nice. You just moved up a notch in my
book Mastah. :)

yeah, they're awesome live! I just found out they've got a
new tour-date added, and it's here in bergen, so I'll get to
see them again too! yay!

09.09.05, baby!

deadly, enjoy!

i saw them here at the village, and it was just AMAZING...
really spectacular. they played 'day' as well, which i'd
just fallen in love with, after someone on the board, i
think it was tolstoyed, reccomended it to me

yeah, it's all good! last time I saw them was just after
they'd released the stix, and they still played some of the
stuff from a livingroom hush, only twenty times more
energetic live, so it was the most amazing thing ever.. but
why am I telling you this? you've seen them!

the best thing about the concert here is that they're
playing a rather small place, so it's all nice and intimate,
and we're going to be standing up front going mental!

JJ is very good. Prefer the stix.

When and where is JJ playing?

Btw Wibutee (jazzland rec) is also worth checking out. They
are better...

when they are playing here in bergen, or just generally?

homepage has livedates.

(her i bergen er det kvarteret den niende september)

I saw wibutee live on ståoppjazz a few weeks ago, and they
were nothing compared to jaga! at least not live!

also check out the 'day' ep, ninja tune 2004. very sweet.
more electronic and chopped up style.

Im going to trondheim late august so i cant see them here in
bergen then...
But they`re playing in Trondheim 26.08, so hopefully im back
in Trondheim then...

Wibutee are better musicians and playing a little more
advanced music than JJ ;)

about wibutee: that may be so, but that's a sit-down
concert, and nothing beats the live feel of jaga.. or, ok..
some things beat jaga live, but of those two, jaga come out
on top.

if you're in bergen now/saturday, there is a slight chance
that I will be helping a friend dj, btw... it'll probably be
hip-hop, but I have no idea about the clientel of this place
(it's "venue," which used to be miles ahead) yet, and it
isn't confirmed yet. if I go, I'll be the guy going through
records, as I have no real skills on the decks yet.. I know
some scratch tricks, but nothing useful for dj'ing.

I said "yet" som many times it stopped making sense. yet.
