I was wondering if anyone has any idea as to what Richard's
plans could be for the coming time. Will he be releasing
more songs? Will he be playing gigs in places other than
England (actually, London) ? I'm curious. I've been a fan
for quite some time, and am still awaiting the possibility
to come and see him in action without having to travel
outside my own country, and without spending all my
money...

Maybe my dream will come true one day...

That's the problem... I think it's kinda sad that an artist
who has such a giant fanbase cares so little about the
people that admire him...

Think he's scared of us?

It all contributes to record sales. }:>

Maybe so, but i'd think he'd sell a lot more if he came to
the mainlands some time to show the ignorant people around
here what a genious he is!

Hardly anyone i've met here even knows who he is, or has
heard any music of him!

Hmm, it's one thing to have some mystique around you,
another to be an unappreciative cunt to the people who made
you rich

exactly... he often says he wont release any more shite...
If i compare this to Autechre, they release loads of
stuff...

Music is what i want... And a chance to admire him at
work... is that so much to ask?

he has no responsibility to pander to the whims and wishes
of his "fanbase" - that is why he isn't a mainstream
artist... he likes to make noises that appeal to him, and if
other people like them enough to buy the noises he makes,
then so be it. if you want music, the drop some acid and go
lie beside a bubbling brook

yes, true marlowe...
this isn't limp bisket w/ their "oh, we love our fans so
much.. we made this new album just for them..
u see, the market research suggested that they would like
this..." -attitude

All well and good, but he doesn't have to whitter on in
interviews about how "I've got all these MP3s which would
blow your head off, they're totally revolutionairy but I
don't wanna release them cause they'll be ripped off by
loads of people"...

If you've got em, fine, but don't bloody goad us!

And I'm not telling him WHAT to make, I'm just saying it's a
bit of a pisser to build up a solid fanbase over 10 years
then turn around and say "I'm not releasing this stuff"... I
mean, it's done, he's happy with it... why not share it with
people who appreciate it?

I bloody would

Maybe this is an attempt to keep out of the mainstream?

And i'm sure that drukqs was an enormous profit (maybe even
a deliberately planned commercial success ) even though it's
an album with 6 or 7 really good tracks?

Could be all strategy...

He's a bloody awkward sod,and we'll just have to put up with
it. }:<

I suppose... I don't mind really, I just hope he does treat
us to some of his deepest archives... mind you, going on
that NME review...

"If any of these tracks make it out of Aphex's hard drive
and onto plastic, they'll shift millions"

That may have put him off

Maybe if he dies one day, we'll inherit the lot!

Err, just ignore that thought actually ;)
