Now, when almost every band claims to be "alternative", this
is a good alternative for the alternative.

The first song from the EP - Good.

I've not really gotten into Maudlin before (although I've
heard a couple of tracks), but this is top stuff.

A nice halfway house between an electronica outfit and a
'real' band. "It's the Way you Leave Me" is absolutely
class. Very professional, especially considering it's a demo
version. The more I hear this the more I think I should of
gone out with that girl who was a Jazz vocalist when I lived
in Bristol and used her on my tracks. :)_

Nice to hear from you as always, you got any new stuff?
Xanpha.com seems to be down.

Hope you're happy and in good health and your course is
going well. I've got a couple of newish tracks (Lexicon and
I=In8) up on my wire.fm site. Only if you're interested/have
time, you know this isn't a 'I've listened to yours, now
listen to mine' thing. ;-)

What pushes me away are the somewhat claustrophobic vocals,
what attracts me is the fresh and subtle combination of
sound texture and production.

Overall, it`s the best combination of voice and electronica
that I have heard in a long time.

Ah... and I have also an impression that the remixes are
slightly better than the originals...

we released 100 here in brisbane, australia, so it was very
briefly... there has been quite a demand for copies of it,
however i have since refused to reprint it on the grounds
that its not a fair representation of us as a band to this
date... when we release the album i will consider reprinting
it, as a bonus disc maybe or something, but as a standalone
release, i dont think it measures up anymore.

what didnt you feel was fair about it?

any chance of a cd-r copy?

all the tracks on it were fairly dated considering the
output we were doing (see the live tracks) the only things i
thought were particularly new and fresh were the remixes...
"ruby" "often times" and "song for cello" were some of our
really early studio recordings and our sound had moved on...
what i want to concentrate on now is releasing the new stuff
and not revisiting the old stuff... um, i'm sure i could
organise a cd-r copy... shouldnt be too much trouble.

hey, i wish you the best of luck with the band :D
when watching rage or videohits you realise how crap music
has become, and itd be awesome if there was more music like
maudlins out there.
also, you're an australian band, and i dont know any good
australian bands or artists.

Natalie Imbruglia, Jason Donovan, these are great artists,
you've just got to look for them. ;-)
