How are you getting on with your writing career? There was
this one post i read in the 'ctrl v thread' that made me
worry quite a bit. What are you up to these days? I've
noticed your rather 'calm' behaviour in recent threads, if i
may call it that.

I'm deeply sorry if i missed any posts regarding this
subject. All the best. Your friend,

J198.

p.s: are you going to the paradiso gig on the 14th of july?

ugh don't mention it.

I got told last week in my year-evaluation (or whatever you
call it) that it might be better if I left school.

basically, it boils down to this: they say the quality of my
writing is excellent, but I don't do it fast enough.

I try to make the deadlines they give, but especially the
last year I've been concentrating more on quality and if I
couldn't finish a text in time, I would kind of go "aah fuck
it".

they see it as an integral part of the way they teach
writing that it should be done in a certain amount of time,
whatever the quality may be. like I told my mentor today, if
I look at the work my classmates produce within the allotted
time, well, frankly, it pretty much sucks.. so what exactly
have you learned then..?

anyway, I already told them I'm not stopping (they can't
actually send me away - too late, motherfuckers!) and now
we're making plans about what I'm going to do the next
year.

re the calm thing, the Power of Moderation leaves no man
untouched.

I have no idea what the paradiso gig on the 14th of july is.
is it that 5 days off thing with autechre? if so - no, I'm
not going. already saw them in Eindhoven and things are just
too warm at this time of year.

Dont listen to teachers in that area. They are only there to
supress your raw talent. Continue with your work

Good for you man. i am in a similar situation. i have a
serious problem with deadlines too, and this is a problem,
but i am not leaving either, if there are people who show up
with absolute crap and make it to the next year anyway (life
is unfair).

I'd be very interested to see some of your writings, if you
are willing (and able) to share any. I don't even know if
you write in dutch or english or both.

And yea that is the 5 days off gig. I saw autechre at
eindhoven too but i never got a chance to really enjoy it
(too effin' crowded) so here's a 2nd chance with some killer
acts added to the lineup.

Be sure to check out Nijmegen's agenda for the zomerfeesten
when it's up (nijmegen 2000 jaar: zomerfeesten XL means
great music guaranteed)! If you don't have any other plans
that is.

Hou je taai :)
