They laugh so heartlessly in your face, if you once again
didn't get "it" (jokes, etc)

in my experience it's stupid people that will laugh in your
face because it's beyond their comprehension what's going on
inside their tiny litte minds anyway

Intelligence isn't somthing to be afraid of, what you should
be afraid of is people with some intelligence thinking they
know everything.

intelligent people have one big problem though: they're the
only ones who understand their own jokes.

it's average people who look down on intelligent people.
intelligent people couldn't care less, they have more
important things to do than waste their time thinking about
rubbish like how much stupid people look down on intelligent
people.

and it's only stupid people that have the need to categorise
people by their level of intelligence in the first place.

You can tell by the way they TALK if they are "intelligent"
or not....Intelligent people are often funny, but the humour
gets way over my head

You made a valid point.

Stupid or average people usually go on and on about how
stupid others are.

It shows only how stupid they really are.

They are stupid.....stupid

yes, you can. in most cases intelligent people have a larger
lexicon and hence are able to express themselves in a more
varied and articulate way. but i am starting to think your
real point is more centered around the theme of inferiority
and acceptance, rather than general intelligence.

you really need to start to believe your life isn't
completely mapped out for you already. sure, a lot of it is
circumstance, but you still do have some choice in things.
when you make a decision, try to think about why you made
it, making sure it was a decision you made. you may feel
more in control if you do this.

you can't judge people's intelligence by the way they talk.
its often the case that more intelligent people shelter
themselves away from the society they believe doesnt
understand them, and as a consequence never develop the
social skills required to talk to these same people.

what is intelligence,it is such a difficult concept to
grasp.

Is the builder less intelligent than the nuclear phycisist?

the physician has a mentally more demanding job but can't do
DIY, the builder went to uni and did a degree in nuclear
physics but was unlucky in not finding a job.

but you've just judged these people as intelligent exactly
because of that reason. so you can.

most cases'.

i am sometimes amazed at what the very intelligent and the
very stupid have in common. lets have an example, if you
were to play a practical joke on them, such the old 'walk
through a door with a bucket of water balenced on top of
it'. a regular person would get the water on their head, and
the joke would be on them. an intelligent person would
realize its a practical joke, and avoid it or try to trick
the joker by asking them to walk through first, just to show
him that its safe. an idiot would walk in, get the bucket on
his head, then simply take it off and carry on as normal,
never realising it was a joke. thereby leaving the joker
unsatisfied. regular people should avoid the stupid and the
intelligent equally.

intelligence isn't as black and white as that, anyway what
is intelligence?

ok i admit measuring intelligence is difficult, but surely
taking an IQ test and getting high points must count for
something?

it's only one aspect of intelligence, how do you measure
imagination, surly you have to be intelligent to imagine yet
I know some people who academically are the top students but
ask the to invent somthing on the spot and they freeze.

I think there are a number of types of intelligence, from
mathematical ability to varying degrees of creativity.

that is exactly what is the case, intelligence can be found
in everybody

Bob I can see your point and yes in todays society academic
intelligence is the bench mark but how will puzzels pay the
bills?

numeracy skills, creativity, awareness of the world around
you, wisdom that comes with age/experience, ability to do
ones job, mental discipline, having an 'open mind', memory
skills....

experience and wisdom aren't measured by the IQ test, just
because you have a high IQ score doesn't make you open
minded, memory skills are somthing else.

How do you measure the intelligence of not putting your hand
on a cooker?

When a baby is born does it have intelligence?

i agree, but still how can you measure creativity or
wisdom or whatever? IQ tests can at least give measure
one type of intelligence.

To incorporate monoids original point:- what type of
intelligence should you be afraid of the most?
