"in the future we may all be retarded"
"in the future we may all be retarded"
"in the future we may all be retarded"
"in the future we may all be retarded"
"in the future we may all be retarded"
"in the future we may all be retarded"

That's going in the books.

HAHA!!! that's funny!

"sick of seeing all the rdj threads" huh?

hmm... that's odd considering this is actually the same
board from the afx.nu site before phobia turned it into
xlt.com, imagine that.

have anyone of you ever considered that richard just thought
Windowlicker was a cool word for a track? why do some people
have to search for a meaning after everything.

i could have sworn it was from the simpsons. there was an
episode where barney was licking windows, its either an
influence or a coincidence. perhaps richard had several
reasons for naming the track windowlicker?

ok i guess i'm gonna have to respond to these one at a time,
first off I'm not "up in arms about it" just passing on info
that some of you may not know, the French explanation may be
more apt but it's still incorrect.

You don't think Windowlicker is taking the piss out of
retarded people? I'd have to disagree , although only RDJ
would know for sure of course.

And what the hell has Frank Zappa got to do with it?, you
saying theres some kind of intellectual reason for him doing
this like some kind of ironic Ian Dury type stance, doubt it
somehow.

basically I think he was being an immature dick, making a
piss take track like the sort of thing a five year old with
a dicophone would do and hiding it behind his (admititidly
fantastic) programing skills

"fucking with me" by naming his track after a slang term for
retarded people then providing the appropiate noises?

so that means I could play it to my neighbour (who has
cerebral palsy) and he would find it hysterical eh?

Some autistic people have brains that IMO seem much more
developed than any "normal" person, this could indicate that
as our brains evolve we could all start to slowly become
what is now percieved as "retarded".

read that book man!

That's kind of ruined the track for me. He does seem to have

its a blatent play on the slang term - how could one not
instantly think so. no doubt rdj would say its meaningless,
thus making us guilty instead. at the end of the day he's
sick in the head; look at friggin rubber johnny - there you
have it.

either, just passing on info at the end of the day)

"the British guys on this board will probably have got
what
Windowlicker is actually all about"
- well if you heard
it on the radio for the first time would you think, haha
this is taking the piss out of retards? I think not. If it
was called .340287402347 you wouldn't think it either?

Its a cracking song, who cares what its called. So what if
afx is purile and childish, he makes good music. If its so
childish to you, don't listen to it, don't make a "I'm
smarter than you" thread cos you know something, which a lot
of people from the .nu days all know anyway.

Why not enlighten us of something more interesting with a
positive spin instead, like analord 4 was recorded with a
kazoo and reverb and not a 303
(N.B. made up fact)

One, I don't listen to the radio, so no I wouldn't have
thought that,
Two, yes it's so bloody obvious what the track is about I
don't see how anyone could fail to get it on a first listen
if they knew about the slang term, and the fact is it's not
called .340287402347, it's called Windowlicker so that
argument is redundant
Three, it's debatable wether or not RDJ does make good music
these days anyway and I don't listen to it that much,
although I was probably into it before most of you had even
heard of him.
Four, if you had bothered to actually read what I wrote you
would know that it wasn't my attempt to make an "I am
smarter than you thread" and I even acknowledged that the
subject was probably common knowledege and had probably been
discussed before but the fact is a lot of people still
didn't know about it as the threads proved.
Five, I make plenty of posts with a "positive spin" but life
isn't always big hearty slaps on the back, sometimes you
need to be negative (and in this case truthful)
Six, music is a very personal thing to those that really
love it, and some may well care wether RDJ is childish and
immature, would you listen to him if I revealed he was a neo
Nazi? despite his music?

Why keep this thread going with all these comments? I
understand that you have some info that you wanted to share
regardless of how many people have known it but continuously
going through all this while stating opinions on the subject
is both tiresome and pointless.

No offense intended but just wanted to share a different
point of view

My blatant, unmasked insults are reserved for very special
occasions and for very deserved people. You are absolute
shit.

maybe the observation wasn’t a bad one, but your delivery
was unnecessarily pompous and condescending, however
childish, like a kid on a bus bragging to the windowlicker
about his newly learned times tables. Leave and never come
back. Offense intended.

Yeah, it's a non-issue, and yet you've got your panties in a
bunch over it.
Like that stalker that was going after Paco Rabanne,
pretending he was the devil or sommat.

Premise to this is that you're not retarded. I think it's
part of the joke that everyone IS retarded; or at least is
so sometime at the minimum, and conveying this via retarded
people is a proper illustration.

Proper illustration of a joke inside an art piece, which is
beyond absurd to argue over.

He likes to fuck with conventions, he's good at it, and said
himself (IIRC) "I wouldn't be worthy of existence if I took
the piss out of anything I did creatively."

err...how was it pompous and condescending? I just wanted to
find out who knew and who didn't and what people thought of
it, what's the point in a discussion forum if you can't
start a discussion that goes beyond "what's you favourite
analord?" or some other such banal shite.

I wouldn't say it's a non-issue, in fact it's a massive

Fascism: A system of government marked by centralization
of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic
controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and
censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent
nationalism and racism.

Did you mean racism? Christ.
